Prashant Veer – Another record was set in the mini auction when Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bid ₹14.20 crore to acquire Uttar Pradesh all-rounder Prashant Veer. This impressive deal made him the most expensive uncapped player in this year’s auction.
Prashant Veer’s bidding was fiercely competitive
Lucknow Super Giants initially bid for Prashant Veer, followed by Mumbai Indians, who also expressed interest and offered up to ₹1.10 crore. Then, a close contest ensued between CSK and Rajasthan Royals, with Rajasthan pulling out at ₹6.40 crore. Sunrisers Hyderabad also made a bid, but CSK ultimately added him to their team with ₹14.20 crore.

20-year-old Prashant Veer has impressed everyone with his excellent batting and bowling in his short career. He recently performed brilliantly in the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He scored 112 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 169.19, while also taking nine wickets with the ball. His average was 18.77 and his economy rate was 6.76.

Prashant Veer performed exceptionally well in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League 2025. Playing for the Noida Super Kings, he scored 320 runs in 10 innings, including three half-centuries.
