Bharatpur, Rajasthan –
Tensions flared in Bharatpur’s Peelu Pura village on June 8 after a Gurjar community Mahapanchayat. Following the meeting near the Shaheed Smarak in Karwari, several youths stormed the Delhi-Mumbai railway track and halted the Mathura-Sawai Madhopur passenger train for nearly two hours.

Protesters climbed onto the train engine, smashed windows, and damaged railway tracks and locks. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has secured over 300 videos of the incident and is currently identifying those involved based on the footage.

FIR Lodged Under Multiple Acts
An FIR was filed at Bayana Sadar police station by SHO Krishnavir Singh under various sections of the Railway Act and Public Property Damage Act. RPF inspector Pradeep Kumar Tiwari confirmed that 8 to 10 trains were affected. After repairs by the engineering team, train services resumed.

Trigger: Exclusion of REET Demand
During the Mahapanchayat, the government had presented a draft addressing several Gurjar demands like reservation, case withdrawals, and memorial development. However, the exclusion of REET recruitment concerns sparked outrage among youths, leading to the protest.

Investigation Underway
Videos are being reviewed to identify the protestors, and ASI Kishanpal has been assigned the investigation. Some protest leaders are accused of inciting the mob and may face legal consequences.
