In a major breakthrough under Operation Khulasa, Jaisalmer police arrested a notorious bike thief named Lalaram (23), a resident of Jhanakli village under Girab Police Station in Barmer district. The police recovered five stolen bikes from his possession, which were stolen from Jodhpur and Jaisalmer.

SHO Premdan Ratnu informed that Lalaram used to steal motorcycles to fund his lavish lifestyle and later sold them. A complaint was lodged by Shivkaran Vishnoi, a Gram Vikas Adhikari, on 19th May, reporting that his bike had been stolen from Shiv Road, Jaisalmer.

The police reviewed CCTV footage to trace the suspect. A special team was sent to Barmer where Lalaram was finally nabbed. On interrogation, he confessed to stealing bikes from 7 different places and selling them elsewhere.

This successful operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO Premdan, supported by Head Constables Dinesh Charan, Shiv Pratap, Jas Bharti, Deependra Singh, Kaluram, Viram Singh, Hinglajdan, Mamraj (special role), Dharasingh, Jay Prakash, Mahendrasinh, Premsingh, Jugtaram, Dharmendra Prasad, Hazarsingh (DCRB), and Abhay Command.

Further investigation is underway to uncover the full extent of Lalaram’s bike theft network and identify his buyers.
