Bangladesh women’s cricket team captain Nigar Sultana is ready for victory against Pakistan in the ODI World Cup.

ODI World Cup 2025 : Bangladesh women’s cricket team captain Nigar Sultana is fully prepared for their opening match of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 against Pakistan. However, she has expressed caution against the Pakistani team, especially regarding their star batsmen Sidra Amin and Muneeba Ali.

The Bangladesh team will begin its campaign on Thursday, October 2, at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. This will be the Bangladesh women’s team’s second ODI World Cup. Nigar Sultana said in the pre-match press conference,

“The Pakistan team is in very good form. Their batting has been very strong, especially Sidra Amin and Muneeba Ali. I saw both of them in the qualifiers, and they are performing brilliantly.”

Sultana further stated that the Bangladeshi team wants to keep their game plan simple and clear. She added, “Our goal is to focus on our game plan and keep it as simple as possible. Every match is a special occasion, and we want to focus completely on that.”

Under Sultana’s leadership, the Bangladesh team had a mixed experience in the previous ODI World Cup, winning only one of seven matches. That victory came against Pakistan, but this time the Bangladesh team wants to start the tournament with a win.

Nigar Sultana says this match is crucial for Bangladesh and a chance for the team to get off to a great start. It is also important for them to strengthen their increasingly competitive side against Pakistan in this tournament.
