Hindaun City, Karaylu: The severe winter cold has put the lives of homeless individuals sleeping under the open sky at serious risk. As temperatures continue to drop and cold winds intensify, the Indian Human Rights Service Organisation, led by its District President Sachin, submitted a memorandum to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) demanding urgent winter relief for extremely poor and shelterless people living on pavements and roadside areas.

Homeless People Struggling in the Harsh Cold

The memorandum highlights that many elderly individuals, women, mentally unwell persons, and daily wage workers spend their nights at bus stands, market areas, vacant plots and footpaths without warm clothing or any protection from the cold. The falling temperature has made their condition extremely vulnerable.

District President Sachin said, “These people are our responsibility—no life should be endangered due to cold.”

During the submission of the memorandum, District President Sachin expressed deep concern, stating:

“People sleeping on footpaths are facing the harshest impact of this cold wave. They have no blankets, no warm clothes, and not even a safe place to spend the night. The administration must provide immediate winter relief. This is not just an official duty—it is a humanitarian responsibility to ensure that no life is put at risk due to extreme cold.”

Sachin added that the organization’s teams have been observing the conditions of the homeless at various locations and found that immediate intervention is essential to prevent any tragic incidents.

Major Demands Presented Before SDM

1. Immediate distribution of blankets, quilts and warm clothes to all homeless individuals.
2. Deployment of relief teams at bus stands, railway stations, market areas and other public places.
3. Activation of night shelters (rain baseras) to provide safe accommodation during the cold wave.
4. Health check-ups for vulnerable homeless individuals to prevent cold-related illnesses.

Call for Prompt Humanitarian Action

The organization urged the administration to take quick and sensitive action, emphasizing that protecting homeless and helpless people during extreme weather is crucial. They expressed hope that the SDM will initiate relief measures immediately to ensure that no life is lost due to the severe winter conditions.
