A ā¹318 Crore Boost for Education: Rajasthan to Honor 154 Philanthropists at 30th Bhamashah Awards

Jaipur: Rajasthan holds a rich, centuries-old legacy of philanthropy and community service. Keeping this noble tradition alive, the state is gearing up to felicitate extraordinary donors who have fundamentally transformed the infrastructure of government schools. The Education Department of Rajasthan is set to host the much-anticipated ’30th State-Level Bhamashah Award Ceremony’ on June 29, 2026, at the Birla Auditorium in Jaipur.
This yearās ceremony marks a monumental milestone, as generous benefactors have collectively contributed a staggering ā¹318 crore towards the strengthening of the state’s educational ecosystem. During this grand event, 154 ‘Bhamashahs’ (philanthropists) and 97 ‘Preraks’ (motivators) will be officially recognized and honored by the state government.
Transparent Selection via ‘Gyan Sankalp Portal’
Sitaram Jat, the Director of Elementary Education, elaborated on the initiative, stating that the awards are dedicated to individuals and organizations that have provided crucial support for the construction of school buildings, additional classrooms, land donations, and other essential physical resources.
To ensure absolute transparency, applications were invited online through the government’s official ‘Gyan Sankalp Portal.’ The final list of awardees was meticulously curated based on stringent eligibility criteria.
Categories of State-Level Honors
The state-level ceremony will classify the awards into distinct categories based on the magnitude of the financial contributions:
- Shiksha Vibhushan (49 Donors): This prestigious title will be conferred upon 49 exceptional philanthropists who have made massive contributions of ā¹1 crore or more towards the education sector.
- Shiksha Bhushan (105 Donors): This honor will be awarded to 105 donors whose financial support ranges between ā¹30 lakh and ā¹1 crore.
- Prerak Samman (97 Motivators): Acknowledging the power of persuasion, the government will also honor 97 motivators who played a pivotal role in inspiring individuals to donate ā¹50 lakh or more for school development.
A Legacy of Giving: 1995 to Present
The numbers reflect a massive wave of public participation in education. According to the Director of Education, the Bhamashah Awards initiative was first introduced in 1995. Up until the 29th edition of the ceremony, a total of 2,331 philanthropists had been honored for their historic cumulative contribution of ā¹1,155.48 crore. In the 2025-26 academic session alone, the department witnessed an unprecedented influx of ā¹318 crore.
District-Level Celebrations Across the State
June 29 will not only be celebrated in the capital but across the entire state. Simultaneous ‘District-Level Bhamashah Award Ceremonies’ will be held in all districts of Rajasthan. These local events will honor donors who have contributed amounts ranging from ā¹1 lakh to ā¹29,99,999. Additionally, motivators who successfully inspired donations between ā¹5 lakh and ā¹49,99,999 will also be felicitated locally to boost community morale.
