As Team India prepares for the highly anticipated five-match Test series against England starting June 20, the players are currently involved in an intra-squad match in Beckenham. One of the standout moments from the camp has been spinner Kuldeep Yadav praising new Test captain Shubman Gill for his leadership qualities.

Kuldeep said, “Shubman knows how to lead the team. He has learned a lot from playing under captains like Rohit Sharma. What I’ve seen in him recently is very impressive — he’s fully focused on team spirit and motivation.”

‘He Thinks Like a Senior’ – Kuldeep on Gill

Yadav highlighted how Gill has matured over the past few seasons. “I’ve seen leadership traits in him over the last 3-4 seasons. He has a calm head and is deeply focused on building team unity. I believe he’s now fully ready to lead India,” said Kuldeep.

This will be Shubman Gill’s first major international test as captain, coming in the wake of Rohit Sharma’s sudden retirement from Test cricket. At just 25, Gill faces a daunting challenge — leading India in England.

Learning from Jadeja – Kuldeep’s New Partnership

With Ravichandran Ashwin’s retirement, the spotlight is now on Kuldeep Yadav to step up as India’s lead spinner. So far, in the intra-squad game, he has looked confident and sharp.

Kuldeep revealed that he is spending a lot of time with Ravindra Jadeja, who has vast experience of English conditions. “I’m learning a lot from Jaddu bhai, not just on the field but off it too. He’s helping me with field placements and match strategies,” said Kuldeep.

Enjoying the Spin Partnership

Kuldeep added, “As a spin partner, I really enjoy bowling with Jadeja. His insights are valuable, and I feel confident working alongside him.”

As India braces for a tough series in England, Shubman Gill’s captaincy and the Kuldeep-Jadeja spin duo could be critical to the team’s success.
