Thalapathy Vijay : Significant news has emerged regarding the personal life of popular Tamil cinema actor Thalapathy Vijay. His wife Sangeeta Sornalingam filed for divorce in the Chengalpattu Family Court on February 27, 2026. This is considered the first formal legal step towards the couple’s separation.

At present, no official statement has been issued by Vijay on this matter. The court hearing on the petition is ongoing.

Decision taken after 27 years of marriage

Vijay and Sangeeta were married on August 25, 1999. The ceremony was a highly publicized affair, attended by many prominent figures from the film industry. Despite belonging to different religions, the couple married according to Hindu rituals. A grand reception was also held in Chennai afterward.

After nearly 27 years together, the couple has now begun the process of legal separation.

Family and Children

A year after their marriage, on August 26, 2000, the couple welcomed their son, Jason Sanjay. Their daughter, Divya Saasha, was born in 2005.

Jason Sanjay recently entered the Tamil film industry as a director and is slowly establishing his own identity. Meanwhile, Divya Saasha is staying away from the limelight and focusing on her studies and personal life.
