Dr. Premchand Bairwa Meeting

Rajsamand, Rajasthan:

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister-in-charge of Rajsamand district, Dr. Premchand Bairwa, conducted a high-level review meeting with district-level officials at the Zila Parishad auditorium on Thursday. The meeting focused on the progress of various state government flagship schemes, ongoing development projects, and the status of basic amenities for the public.

Key Directives: Focus on Water and Power Infrastructure

Deputy CM Dr. Bairwa emphasized that ensuring water and electricity supply during the summer season is the state government’s top priority. He issued strict instructions to officials:

  • Prompt Resolution: There should be no leniency regarding electricity and water supply issues. Complaints must be resolved immediately.
  • Action Against Illegal Connections: Strict action must be taken against illegal water connections to ensure uninterrupted supply for the public.
  • Time-Bound Execution: All development projects must be completed within the stipulated timeline to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in the queue.

Review of Flagship Schemes and ‘Vande Ganga’ Campaign

Describing ‘Vande Ganga’ (a water conservation public campaign) as an ambitious project of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, Dr. Bairwa stressed the need to cultivate ‘water-consciousness’ at every level. He reviewed the progress of several major initiatives, including:

  • Agriculture & Rural Development: Kusum Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, and Swamitva Yojana.
  • Social Welfare & Women Empowerment: Lado Protsahan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, and the ‘Panch Gaurav Yojana’ (covering Lakhpati Didi, Solar Didi, Drone Didi, Bank Sakhi, etc.).
  • Health & Housing: Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural/Urban).

Swift Resolution of Issues Raised by Public Representatives

Member of Parliament Mahima Kumari Mewar, Rajsamand MLA Deepti Maheshwari, and Nathdwara MLA Vishvaraj Singh Mewar raised critical regional issues, including water supply from the Bagheri project and power supply infrastructure (RDSS). Dr. Bairwa took serious note of these concerns and directed officials from the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and other relevant departments to ensure their immediate resolution.

Water Conservation as a ‘Jan Andolan’

Dr. Bairwa described water as a lifeline and urged that conservation should not remain just a government task but should transform into a ‘Jan Andolan’ (people’s movement). He appealed to the youth and rural communities to take the lead in reviving traditional water sources and participating actively in rainwater harvesting efforts.
