
Pre-monsoon showers have intensified across Rajasthan, bringing much-needed respite from the scorching heat. On Monday afternoon around 1 PM, heavy rains were reported in Chittorgarh’s Nikumbh region, while Bhilwara witnessed a fatal incident as a house wall collapsed during a thunderstorm.
Rainfall Highlights:
In the last 24 hours, Aameth in Rajsamand recorded the highest rainfall at 96mm, followed by Kumbhalgarh (84mm), Mandawar in Dausa (73mm), Ramgarh in Alwar (68mm), and Kared in Bhilwara (64mm).
Fatality in Bhilwara:
Strong winds and rain caused destruction in Baira village of Bhilwara’s Raila area, where several tin roofs were blown away. A 35-year-old man named Avinash, who worked in a textile factory, died after being injured when a house wall collapsed.
Bisalpur Dam Water Level Rises:
The Bisalpur Dam’s catchment area received 15mm rain. As of 6 AM Monday, the dam’s water level stood at 312.45 RL meters, nearing its full capacity of 315.50 RL meters.
Temperature Drops by 10°C:
Pre-monsoon rains led to a significant drop in temperatures—up to 10°C in some cities. Churu recorded the highest at 41.5°C, while temperatures in Jaipur, Alwar, Bikaner, Kota, and Udaipur fell below 40°C.
