Rajasthan Medical Strike

JAIPUR: In light of the proposed strike by pharmaceutical retailers on Wednesday, the state government has taken a significant decision to prioritize the interests of the public and patients. The Cooperative Department has issued directives ensuring that all Cooperative Medical Stores and Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras operating across the state will remain open on Wednesday, May 20, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Relief Across 538 Centers

Dr. Samit Sharma, Secretary and Registrar of the Cooperative Societies, stated that comprehensive preparations have been made through CONFED, cooperative consumer stores, and purchase-sale cooperative societies to ensure that patients do not face a shortage of medicines during the strike. There are a total of 538 such centers across Rajasthan, which will provide uninterrupted services for 14 hours on Wednesday.

Directives for Maintaining Sufficient Stock

Dr. Samit Sharma has issued clear instructions to the officials of CONFED and District Cooperative Stores to ensure that a sufficient stock of all essential medicines, including life-saving drugs, is maintained at these centers. Approximately 2,000 different types of medicines will be available at these cooperative stores, ensuring that citizens do not face any health-related difficulties during the strike period.

This decision has been taken to maintain the continuity of medical services and to provide relief to patients during this time. The administration has appealed to patients to utilize these cooperative medical centers in case they face any issues due to the strike.
