Kapoor Family Milestone: Riddhima Kapoor Sahni to Debut at 45 in ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’; Shares Screen with Daughter Samara

Breaking a long-standing tradition in one of Bollywoodโs most prestigious lineages, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, daughter of the late Rishi Kapoor and veteran actress Neetu Kapoor, is all set to make her silver screen debut. At 45, Riddhima becomes the oldest debutant in the history of the Kapoor family with the upcoming film ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’.
“A Sense of Coming Full Circle” โ Riddhima
In a deeply personal interview, Riddhima opened up about starting her acting journey at this stage of her life. She described the experience as surreal and emotional.
“It truly feels like everything is coming full circle. I know my father is always with me, blessing me in everything I choose to do. Stepping into this new world at 45 brought a sense of vulnerability, but also immense excitement,” she shared.
Three Generations in One Frame
The film promises a rare treat for fans of the Kapoor family. In a special song titled ‘Senti’, audiences will see three generations together: Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima, and her daughter Samara Sahni.
While Samara has grown up under the media spotlight, Riddhima remains modest about their future in cinema. She noted that seeing her daughter on screen was a proud motherly moment, though she isn’t certain if this will lead to a full-time acting career for either of them.
The Transition from Reality TV to Cinema
Riddhima creditโs her 2024 appearance on Karan Joharโs reality series, ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’, for making her comfortable in front of the lens. She admitted that the show provided a sense of familiarity that made the transition to a film set much smoother.
