JAIPUR: To realize the vision of ‘Gramodaya se Antyodaya’ (upliftment of the last person through village development), Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has launched a new initiative in the form of ‘Gram Vikas Chaupal’. This platform is not only serving as a medium to hear the grievances of rural citizens but is proving to be a powerful tool for making on-the-spot administrative decisions.
From Dialogue to Resolution: The Working Style of ‘Chaupal’
The most significant aspect of the Chief Minister’s ‘Chaupals’ is that bureaucratic red tape is bypassed, and decisions are made instantly. Recent examples include the overnight approval of a Science Faculty at a school in Jajod village (Sikar) based on the students’ request, and the up-gradation of a Primary Health Center to a Community Health Center (CHC) in Kadel village (Ajmer), where the Chief Minister displayed remarkable sensitivity and promptness. So far, he has interacted directly with villagers across five districts, including Pratapgarh, Sikar, Ajmer, Jalore, and Jaipur.
Schedule for the Vagad Region Tour
Continuing the series of Gram Vikas Chaupals, the Chief Minister is now heading toward the Vagad region:
- May 20: The Chief Minister will arrive at Chudada village in Kushalgarh, Banswara. He will hold a dialogue at the Chaupal and stay overnight in the village.
- May 21: During a morning walk in Chudada village, the CM will interact with people door-to-door to gather feedback. Afterward, he will hold a meeting with district-level officials at the Banswara Collectorate.
- May 21 (Afternoon): Upon arriving in Dungarpur and holding a meeting with officials at the Collectorate, the CM will reach Dhambola village in Chorasi.
- May 22: Following an overnight stay and a morning public interaction in Dhambola, the Chief Minister will participate in various scheduled programs.
A Message of Environment and Economy
Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to save fuel, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has made significant changes to his operational style. He has not only reduced the size of his convoy but is also traveling using an electric vehicle (EV). The Chief Minister will continue to use the EV for all programs, including the Gram Vikas Chaupals in the Vagad region.
The Chief Minister’s ground-level outreach is proof of the government’s commitment to reaching the people’s doorstep to resolve their issues, thereby accelerating the pace of development in rural areas.
