A shocking case of fraud has come to light in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, where a medical store owner was duped of ₹1.5 lakh by a conman who sold him a fake gold necklace.

Ravindra Kumar Garg, a resident of Arihant Nagar, Chopasni Housing Board area, filed a police complaint stating that a man he recently became acquainted with had approached him with a story. The man claimed he found a gold necklace during excavation work and wanted to sell it.

To gain Ravindra’s trust, the conman gave him a small piece of the necklace for testing, which was confirmed to be real gold by a local jeweller. Convinced of its authenticity, Ravindra agreed to buy the full necklace.

On June 14, near Krishna Hospital, Ravindra handed over ₹1.5 lakh to the man in exchange for the necklace. However, when he later took it for a full appraisal, it turned out to be completely fake.

Realizing he had been scammed, Ravindra approached Chopasni Housing Board Police Station and lodged an FIR. The police have registered a case and launched a search for the unidentified fraudster.

This incident serves as a reminder to citizens to remain vigilant and avoid falling for such scams without proper verification.
