Controversy Over Alleged Casteist Remarks

Hindaun City (Karauli): A controversy has erupted after alleged casteist and derogatory remarks against the Jatav community were reportedly made during the 360 Villages Farmers’ Mahapanchayat held in Hindaun City, Karauli district. Following the incident, the District Jatav Social Reform Committee submitted a memorandum to the police administration, demanding strict legal action against the concerned speaker.

According to the memorandum, during the 360 Villages Farmers’ Mahapanchayat organized on June 18, 2026, at Develen Mod, Hindaun City, a speaker allegedly used offensive and unconstitutional language against the Jatav community, which is classified under the Scheduled Caste category.

Social activist Arjun Mahar also reacted to the controversy through a post on social media platform X.

He further stated:

“The word used from the public stage is considered a derogatory slur and is often used offensively against communities such as Bairwa, Jatav, Meghwal and Raigar.”

Appealing to law enforcement agencies, Mahar said:

“I request Rajasthan Police and Karauli Police to register an FIR under the SC/ST Act and other applicable legal provisions against the person who used objectionable language against the Scheduled Caste community and arrest him immediately.”
