Tension gripped Tatamadh village in the Sewar police station area of Bharatpur district after a dispute escalated into violence following an Ambedkar Jayanti procession. The incident, which began on April 14, 2026, has left several people injured and prompted heavy police deployment in the area.

According to local sources, members of the Jatav community had organized a procession for the first time in the village to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. During the procession, a minor argument reportedly broke out between participants and some individuals. Although the situation was initially brought under control by people present at the spot, tensions continued to simmer.

The following day, the situation worsened significantly. It is alleged that a group of individuals entered houses belonging to members of the Jatav community and attacked them using sticks and sharp weapons. In the attack, around six to seven people were injured. Some victims reportedly suffered head injuries, while others sustained internal wounds.

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1ECk94nNzZ

Upon receiving information, the Sewar police immediately reached the spot and took control of the situation. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police officials confirmed that some accused individuals were detained on the spot, and further action is being taken.

To prevent any further escalation, additional police forces have been deployed in the village. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to maintain law and order and ensure peace in the area.

Local residents have demanded strict action against those involved in the violence. Meanwhile, some social organizations have also appealed to people to maintain calm and have called for justice for the victims.

Police have stated that the situation is currently under control, and a detailed investigation is underway. Officials have assured that all necessary steps will be taken to identify the culprits and ensure that legal action is carried out promptly.

A tragic incident occurred at the Chambal Filter Plant near Dholpur Road where a contract worker died after slipping into a 15-foot-deep recycled water tank while cleaning. The deceased, Vijendra, son of Murarilal from Nagla Jhor (Rudawal Police Station), lost his balance while cleaning near the tank wall and fell inside.

Despite attempts to rescue him, Vijendra was found dead by local residents Rohitash Kashyap and Jugalkishore after being retrieved from the water. The SDRF and police were informed immediately.

According to Executive Engineer Gokulesh Deshwal, Vijendra had been working on a contract basis for the past 1.5 years. He was using ropes to support himself, but no safety equipment like belts, gloves, or shoes was provided during the cleaning task.

This incident highlights serious negligence by the Chambal Project authorities, especially just two days after four workers died in a trench collapse at another project site. A complaint was lodged by Vijendra’s brother Ashok, and the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.

Tuesday’s heavy monsoon showers exposed the flaws in Bharatpur city’s drainage system. Waterlogging was reported across multiple areas including the CM Grievance Centre, CM Residence (Jawahar Nagar D Block), Collectorate premises, Municipal Corporation area, New Mandi, and various low-lying colonies like Govardhan Gate, Neemda Gate, and Tilak Nagar.

To tackle the flooding, the Municipal Corporation deployed 11 engine pumps, 8 tractor alternator pumps, and fixed motor pump houses. ADM City Rahul Saini inspected the ongoing dewatering efforts. However, the lack of permanent drainage infrastructure continues to burden residents during monsoon.

Commissioner Shrawan Kumar Vishnoi stated that obstructions created during construction in CCFD and RNFCD zones (e.g., near Anah Gate, Chandpol Gate, Gopalgarh) are being removed. Boats were also used to clean a large drain near Neemda Gate. Complaints received through the control room are being resolved by deploying additional pumps.

According to Jaipur’s Meteorological Centre, rainfall will likely continue across Bharatpur division for a week. As per reports, Uchain received 151 mm, Bharatpur 111 mm, Bayana 116 mm, and Roopwas 81 mm of rainfall. A 4°C temperature drop brought pleasant weather.

On Friday evening, a major accident was narrowly avoided on the Bharatpur-Bayana State Highway near Agawali village. A speeding truck rear-ended a 108 emergency ambulance, severely damaging its rear section.

The incident occurred when the ambulance driver was returning to Bayana hospital after dropping off a pregnant woman at RBM Hospital in Bharatpur. The truck driver, attempting to overtake, collided with the ambulance. The impact caused the truck to veer off and stop at the roadside with damage.

Bajariya Town Outpost In-Charge Nirbhay Singh Gurjar and his police team reached the scene promptly. The police seized both vehicles, and traffic on the highway was disrupted for a short time.

Fortunately, no patient was inside the ambulance at the time of the accident, preventing any injuries. According to the police, no formal complaint has been filed yet. Legal action will be taken once a complaint is received.

In a powerful demonstration of public dissent, residents of six villages under the Bayana sub-division in Bharatpur district staged a protest on Thursday against illegal liquor operations allegedly being run under the guise of a warehouse.

Villagers from Nagla Purohit, Vidyari, Nagla Chhittariya, Nagla Tota, and Anawali, including men, women, and children, gathered outside the District Excise Office in Bharatpur and submitted a memorandum to the District Collector, demanding the immediate shutdown of the alleged illegal liquor outlet.

Protesters claimed that a liquor shop is illegally being run inside a container on Nagla Purohit road, posing a threat to community peace and the safety of women and children.

The key demands outlined in the memorandum were:

Immediate closure of the liquor outlet being run under the name of a warehouse

Complete ban on liquor sales in populated/residential areas

Declaration of the area as a “protected zone” to ensure safety for women and children

Chanting slogans like “Shut Down Liquor Shops, Save Our Villages,” the demonstrators warned of intensified protests if action is not taken promptly. They stated that the spread of liquor sales is corrupting the youth and disturbing rural harmony.

The protest was especially notable for the active participation of village women, who voiced concerns over safety and demanded permanent resolution from the administration.

In a commendable medical feat, doctors at Bharatpur Government Women’s Hospital successfully performed a high-risk emergency C-section, saving the life of a 25-year-old woman and her twin sons.

Bulbul, a resident of Nagla Parshuram, arrived at the hospital on June 3 in a semi-conscious state, with her oxygen saturation dangerously low at 30%. Doctors diagnosed pulmonary edema caused by severe high blood pressure, making it impossible to transport her to another hospital.

Dr. Vaibhav Sharma (Gynecologist) and Dr. Arpit Singhal (Anesthesiologist) explained the high risk to the family and decided on immediate surgery. Within just 30 minutes, a full medical team including Dr. Priyanka Joshi, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Dr. Pallavi Sharma, Nursing Officers Umesh Sharma and Deependra Singh successfully delivered healthy twin boys.

Post-operation, the mother was shifted to R.B.M. Hospital ICU, where she was kept on a ventilator for 48 hours due to breathing issues. With consistent care from Dr. Sharma and his team, she regained consciousness and was later supported with oxygen therapy.

She was shifted back to the Women’s Hospital on June 7 and discharged with her healthy newborns on June 12.

Dr. Sharma praised the coordination and swift action by the medical staff, noting that referring the patient elsewhere could have been fatal. The hospital administration lauded the medical team’s dedication and life-saving response.
