Alwar. In a determined bid to provide immediate relief to the public by resolving their fundamental grievances on the spot, the Rajasthan government is actively expanding its outreach. Taking Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s vision of good governance directly to the grassroots, Minister of State for Environment and Forests (Independent Charge) Mr. Sanjay Sharma held a massive public hearing (Jansunwai) at the Alwar Circuit House on Thursday, June 25, 2026. During the session, over 650 complainants from across the district presented their issues. While a majority of the applications were related to the transfers of government employees, the Minister took a tough stance on administrative delays concerning basic civic amenities like water, electricity, and road infrastructure, issuing strict deadlines for their resolution.

Key Highlights of the News:

  • Massive Public Outreach: Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma patiently heard and addressed the grievances of over 650 citizens who gathered at the Alwar Circuit House.
  • Strict Action on Indiscipline: Setting a strong precedent, the Minister directed the immediate removal of a home guard from the Municipal Corporation office for misbehaving with a coaching institute representative.
  • Relief for Coaching Centers: Prioritizing the uninterrupted education of students, the administration granted coaching centers a 15-day window to submit an affidavit and obtain their Fire Safety NOCs.
  • Focus on Basic Amenities: Strict 7-day ultimatums were issued to the respective departments to resolve severe drinking water shortages and electricity hazards.

Primary Goal is Immediate Public Relief: Sanjay Sharma

Addressing the gathering and administrative officials, Minister Sanjay Sharma emphasized that the state government’s sole objective is to ensure that every common citizen avails the benefits of government schemes and basic amenities without unnecessary hurdles. He stated that the Chief Minister has issued clear directives to ensure no public grievance is left pending. During the hearing, issues concerning drinking water scarcity, power supply interruptions, healthcare, dilapidated roads, encroachments, and transfers were raised prominently. The Minister instructed officials to resolve local-level issues immediately with quality and ensure that matters requiring clearance from the state headquarters (Jaipur) are processed in a strictly time-bound manner.

Ultimatum to Officials on Water and Power Crisis

The hearing saw residents of the Delhi Darwaza Ganga Mandir area raising an acute drinking water crisis. Expressing strong displeasure, the Forest Minister issued a strict 7-day ultimatum to the Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) to execute a permanent solution and provide relief to the area.

Similarly, addressing the demands of the citizens of Koli and Bairwa Basti in Ward No. 27, the Minister assured the immediate commencement of 3-phase borewell drilling to resolve their water woes. Taking serious note of a potentially fatal complaint by Bhugor resident Parudan Singh regarding an electric current flowing through an iron utility pole, the Minister directed the Electricity Department’s Executive Engineer to replace the hazardous pole immediately.

Directives on Infrastructure and Title Deeds for 37 Slums

Acting on a petition for road construction and streetlights near Defense Enclave Itarana Gate in Ward No. 38, the Minister issued necessary directives to Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) officials. He also expedited the approval for drainage, sewerage, and CC road construction near Rangila Wala Kuan in Ward No. 3.

Furthermore, responding to a memorandum submitted by the Dr. Ambedkar Memorial Welfare Society regarding the issuance of land leases (Pattas) in 37 slums (Kacchi Bastis) of Alwar, the Minister directed the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to complete all necessary legal and administrative procedures promptly and distribute the leases to eligible residents as per the rules.

Misbehavior with Citizens Intolerable; Erring Home Guard Axed

The Jansunwai witnessed a heated moment when representatives of various coaching institutes complained about being treated disrespectfully by Municipal Corporation and UIT officials during fire NOC and safety standard inspections.

Taking a stern view of the matter, Minister Sanjay Sharma declared that no government official or employee has the right to misbehave with a common citizen. He instantly ordered the Municipal Commissioner to remove the specific home guard involved in the misbehavior from the corporation office with immediate effect.

Keeping the future of the students paramount, the Minister instructed the authorities:

“The education of children studying in coaching institutes must not be affected. Officials should take a legal affidavit from the coaching operators stating they will complete the required Fire NOC procedures strictly within the next 15 days. The operation of these centers should remain smooth in the interest of the students, without compromising on safety standards.”

The massive public hearing was attended by top officials from various district departments, Municipal Corporation executives, UIT engineers, and a large number of local residents.
