Jhalawar, Rajasthan – District Collector Ajay Singh Rathore conducted a surprise inspection of the Mini Secretariat on Wednesday and thoroughly reviewed the administrative system, cleanliness, and record management. The inspection lasted approximately one and a half hours, during which he closely observed the offices of various departments located within the Secretariat complex.
Offices Inspected
The District Collector inspected the ADM Office, SDM Office, Treasury Office, Logistics Department, Minority Department, Horticulture Department, Agriculture Department, Ayurveda Department, Insurance Department, ADM Court, SDM Court, and other departmental offices.
Strict Stance on Dirt and Tobacco Stains
During the inspection, dirt, garbage, and tobacco stains were found at several locations within the Mini Secretariat complex. Expressing strong displeasure, the District Collector directed immediate action under the COTPA Act against those consuming tobacco within the premises.

Displeasure Expressed Over Grass and Debris on the Roof
The District Collector expressed dissatisfaction with the grass growing on the roof of the Mini Secretariat and the presence of building material (pebbles and stones). He directed Public Works Department Superintendent Engineer Mukesh Meena to immediately remove grass and debris from the roof.
Orders for Repair, Painting, and Repair of Broken Structures
The District Collector gave clear instructions to the Public Works Department officer to immediately repair and paint any repairs that were needed in the building. He also directed that broken windows and doors be repaired promptly.

Emphasis on Record Upkeep and Disposal of Discarded Materials
During the inspection of various departments, the District Collector directed the maintenance of departmental records and the proper disposal of old, discarded, and unusable records.
He also directed the spraying of anti-termite spray to protect old documents stored in record rooms, including land records. During the inspection, the strong room of the Treasury Officer’s office was found to be clean and updated, with which the District Collector expressed satisfaction.
