Mahesh Kumar from Sikar has achieved All India Rank 1 in NEET UG 2025 on his very first attempt. Originally from Nohar in Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan, Mahesh comes from a family of government school teachers—his father Ramesh Kumar and mother Hemlata.
He began preparing for NEET during Class 11 while continuing his regular school education in Sikar. Despite being a Hindi medium student, Mahesh overcame challenges with the support of his teachers and coaching mentors. A month before the exam, he shifted his study strategy: instead of studying for 10-12 hours a day, he limited himself to focused 4-hour sessions.
Due to age restrictions, he couldn’t appear for NEET for three years, but he utilized that time preparing consistently alongside school. Physics was the toughest subject for him, but with a smart approach during the exam, he managed to tackle even the most difficult questions.
Mahesh’s original plan was to prepare for UPSC, but his elder sister motivated him to choose NEET. His mother took leave from work to stay with him during the final week of preparation, supporting him emotionally and mentally.
His message to future aspirants is clear: “Stay consistent, avoid both overconfidence and despair. Base your preparation on NCERT and classroom notes and practice extensively.”
