Contract Worker Electrocuted in Banswara: Alleged Negligence in Power Line Maintenance

A tragic incident unfolded in Rajasthan’s Banswara district, where a young contract worker died due to accidental electrocution from an 11 kV high-voltage power line. The mishap occurred in the Bagidora region, allegedly due to negligence during ongoing maintenance work.

According to local sources, the deceased was employed under a private contractor and was engaged in electrical work when the high-tension line suddenly became active. The worker received a fatal electric shock and succumbed on the spot.

Residents expressed outrage over the incident, stating that repeated warnings regarding safety lapses were ignored by the authorities. The victim’s family is now demanding proper compensation and strict action against those responsible.

This unfortunate event raises serious concerns about the enforcement of safety protocols in rural electrical maintenance operations.
