In a major public health initiative to raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases and provide advanced medical care to economically disadvantaged sections of society, a mega free heart checkup and diagnostic camp was launched in Jaipur. The Governor of Rajasthan, Mr. Haribhau Bagde, officially inaugurated the camp on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the Mahaveer Commerce College campus.

The welfare camp was organized under the joint aegis of the Department of Medical, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Rajasthan, and the Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital (operating out of Ahmedabad and Rajkot). Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, the Governor emphasized the urgent need for extensive, ground-level awareness campaigns to curb the rising incidence of cardiac ailments.

The Path to Longevity Through Holistic Living and Ayurveda

Speaking on the shifting paradigms of modern health, Governor Haribhau Bagde expressed concern over the accelerating global threat of cardiovascular disorders. Citing data from the World Health Organization (WHO), he noted that between 10 to 20 million people worldwide are affected by heart diseases annually.

The Governor highlighted three fundamental lifestyle interventions necessary to maintain optimum cardiac health:

  • Nutritional Awareness and Pure Diet: What we consume directly impacts arterial health. Incorporating balanced, pure, and wholesome nutrition into daily routines is a non-negotiable step in preventing blockages.
  • Regular Physical Exercise: Comprehensive public campaigns must educate citizens on physical labor and active exercises to maintain flexible arteries and ensure smooth blood circulation.
  • Timely Clinical Screenings: Monitoring the body’s internal vital metrics at an early stage can effectively prevent major medical emergencies like sudden heart attacks.

An Ancient Example of Vitality: Invoking the legacy of Swami Sivananda Maharaj, who lived to the remarkable age of 126, the Governor explained that human longevity can be significantly enhanced. He noted that by adhering to Ayurvedic principles and carefully monitoring the body’s internal mechanisms, an individual can sustain lifelong wellness.

Extending Care to the Last Mile: Free Cardiac Surgery Tokens Distributed

Referencing the philanthropic philosophy of ‘Antyodaya’ (uplifting the last person in the queue), the Governor stated that true developmental progress is achieved only when high-tier medical infrastructure reaches the most marginalized citizens. He highly commended the historic, selfless contributions made by Sri Sathya Sai Baba in establishing charitable healthcare and educational networks for the poor.

As part of the camp’s actionable objective, the Governor personally distributed official approval tokens to critical patients diagnosed with complex heart conditions during the screening. Under this humanitarian outreach, all selected patients will receive fully sponsored, zero-cost cardiac surgeries and operative care at the Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital.

Special guest and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Mr. Chunnilal Garasiya, lauded the Sai Heart Hospital for its exemplary history of free medical service to humanity. The inaugural event was attended by senior administrative directors from the health ministry, prominent civic leaders, and the administrative faculty of Mahaveer College.
