Residents of the Ajmer North assembly constituency are set to experience a significant enhancement in urban mobility and civic infrastructure. Following dedicated administrative efforts by Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Mr. Vasudev Devnani, financial and administrative approvals have been officially cleared for a comprehensive road reconstruction and transformation project. A total budget of ₹22.5 crore has been allocated through a combination of the state government’s budget declarations (Fiscal Year 2026-27) and the Member of Legislative Assembly Local Area Development (MLALAD) fund.

This large-scale infrastructure project will cover major commercial arteries as well as heavily damaged internal lanes and residential colony roads across various municipal wards. Once completed, the overhauled network will systematically reduce traffic congestion, address seasonal waterlogging issues, and modernize the region’s foundational connectivity.

Budget Declarations & Missing Links: Comprehensive Financial Allocation

The infrastructure upgrades recommended by the Assembly Speaker have been categorized into three distinct operational segments, structured as follows:

1. Primary Arterial Routes & Damaged Internal Lanes (Allocation: ₹10 Crore)

This primary funding pool will focus on overhauling high-traffic commercial lifelines and busy urban stretches. Key projects include the complete restoration of the route from Jawahar Rangmanch to beyond Mamata Sweets, the busy corridor from Bajranggarh Chouraha through Mahaveer Circle to Agra Gate, and the stretch from Lavkush Udyan to the Ana Sagar Police Post. Additionally, eroded internal roads across several key neighborhoods—including Prakash Nagar, Ambe Vihar, Sant Kanwar Ram Colony, Ganpati Nagar, Sagar Vihar, and the RPSC Colony—will be entirely rebuilt.

2. Non-Patcheable Road Overhauls (Allocation: ₹7 Crore)

Sanctioned under Clause 295 of the state budget declaration, this fund targets ‘non-patcheable’ roads—stretches that have degraded beyond the scope of routine repair and require complete structural reconstruction. Major projects under this segment include the stretch from the Ambedkar Circle Bus Stand to Agrasen Circle, the Ana Sagar Circular Link Road, and the route extending from the Clock Tower Police Station through Apna Bazaar to Parvati Oil Mills. It also covers the renewal of the main Boraj Road and the construction of a heavy-duty Cement Concrete (CC) road on the Hathi Kheda main route.

3. Missing Links & Rural Perimeter Connectivity (Allocation: ₹5.5 Crore)

To eliminate structural gaps in regional connectivity, isolated pockets and rural peripheries will be integrated into the main network via the ‘Missing Link’ scheme. Key connectivity projects will be executed in Loagal (Kumhar Mohalla), Makadwali, Kazipura (Tejaji Temple route), and the vital Ajaysar link road. Inside the urban core, missing link alignments using high-durability asphalt and interlocking blocks will be built in sectors such as Chudi Bazaar (the lane adjacent to Krishna Tower leading to the Amareshwar Mahadev Temple), Saket Colony, Teachers Colony, and Surya Nagari.

Boosting Smooth Traffic Flow and Regional Aesthetics

According to administrative sources, following the formal issuance of these financial sanctions, the Public Works Department (PWD) and the local Municipal Corporation are scheduled to initiate the public tendering process shortly. Speaker Vasudev Devnani has issued strict guidelines to execution engineers to enforce rigid quality-control benchmarks and ensure project completion within fixed timelines to minimize public inconvenience. The modernized road grid is expected to significantly improve the daily commute for local citizens while providing a seamless, transit-friendly experience for the millions of domestic and international tourists who visit Ajmer annually.
