Half-Built BJP Organization in Rajasthan: 6 Months After Elections, Key Appointments Still Pending

Jaipur.
Nearly six and a half months have passed since the BJP in Rajasthan launched its organizational election process—called Sangathan Parv—on December 2, 2024. This process aimed to elect leadership from the booth level up to the state president. While the process officially concluded with the election of Madan Rathore as State President on February 22, 2025, the party’s organizational structure remains incomplete to this day.

❗ Key Appointments Still Awaited: 60 Mandal Heads and 4 District Presidents Vacant

Out of 1137 BJP Mandals in the state, around 60 still have no Mandal Presidents. In addition, four key organizational districtsDausa, Jhunjhunu, Dholpur, and Jodhpur (Rural North)—still have no District Presidents.

No executive committees (karyakarinis) have been formed at either the Mandal or district level, leaving current Mandal and district presidents to operate without full support structures.

🧩 Four Districts, Four Deadlocks: Internal Rifts Delay Appointments

📍 Dausa

The party wants to appoint a Brahmin leader as district president, but internal disagreements among local MLAs and Minister Kirori Lal Meena have caused a deadlock. Of the 27 Mandals in Dausa, only 13 Mandal presidents have been appointed—two of whom are also facing objections.

📍 Jhunjhunu

BJP is looking for an OBC face here, but the region is Jat-dominated, complicating the selection. Internal friction between MLA Rajendra Bhambu and former candidate Bablu Choudhary has added to the delay.

📍 Dholpur

With no sitting BJP MLA in the district and only one seat won in the past 20 years, the party lacks a strong local face. The leadership is considering an SC or OBC leader who can build organizational strength from the ground up.

📍 Jodhpur (Rural North)

The name of the district president was reportedly finalized, but local leaders rejected the choice, calling the candidate an outsider. As a result, the process stalled at the last minute.

Delay in Team Formation: What’s Holding It Back?

BJP sources claim that the full executive team in Rajasthan will only be announced after the party’s national president is elected, since the names require approval from the central leadership.

According to insiders:

“Madan Rathore was appointed State President on July 25, 2024, yet he continues to function with the old team. Despite repeated assurances, the new team is still awaited.”

🗣️ Promises Made, But No Timeline

Whenever asked by the media, Madan Rathore insists:

“The new team will be announced soon.”
However, no specific timeline has been given even after three and a half months since his formal election.

📌 Organizational Gaps Affecting Ground-Level Work

Without fully functional Mandal and district committees:

  • Ground-level coordination is weakened
  • Implementation of organizational plans is slow
  • Confusion prevails among party workers regarding leadership

🔍 Conclusion

The BJP’s much-hyped Sangathan Parv has turned into a prolonged phase of uncertainty. As internal disagreements and delays continue, the lack of a full organizational team could impact the party’s preparedness for upcoming electoral challenges.
