The first convocation ceremony of Nirwan University concluded with great dignity and enthusiasm at the Rajasthan International Center in Jaipur on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Addressing the graduating students as the chief guest, the Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Dr. Vasudev Devnani, urged the youth to blend science with spirituality, technology with culture, and modernity with humanity as they step into the professional world.
A Synthesis of Education and Human Values: Dr. Devnani
While addressing the gathering, Speaker Dr. Vasudev Devnani emphasized that a degree is not merely a piece of paper; rather, it represents a sacred social responsibility toward human life. “Historically, India has gifted the world the science of zero, Ayurveda, yoga, and meditation. Today, our nation is emerging as a global powerhouse in space exploration, Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital technology, and defense research. This transformation is not just a technical milestone but a testament to our consciousness that traditionally aligns knowledge with human welfare,” he stated.
A Call to Re-establish India as a ‘Global Wellness Guru’
Lauding Nirwan University’s core philosophy of “linking knowledge acquisition with life building,” Dr. Devnani called upon the younger generation to cultivate a robust wellness culture to re-establish India as a ‘Health Guru’ on the global stage. Inspiring the students, he added that they should elevate their lives and careers to such heights that their success becomes a reflection of the soul of India rather than just an individual introduction.
Guests Emphasize Quality Education and Innovation
Speaking as the special guest, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Jawahar Singh Bedham, recalled India’s ancient educational heritage. He remarked that there was a time when scholars from across the globe traveled to India to study philosophy and spirituality. To reclaim that academic glory, he stressed the critical need for continuous improvement in institutional education quality.
Prof. Kailash Sodani, Advisor (Higher Education) to the Governor, encouraged the graduates to embrace forward-thinking research and innovation to provide new direction to society and the nation. The event also witnessed the esteemed presence of Prof. (Dr.) Raja Babu Panwar, former Vice-Chancellor of the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), and Dr. Manjeet Singh Nirwan, Chairperson of the Nirwan Charitable Trust, both of whom shared their insights with the students.

Godara and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Bhavna Detha presented the university’s academic progress report, reiterating the institution’s commitment to delivering quality higher education.
