In a tragic case from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, a young man named Anand Devangan ended his life by jumping in front of a freight train near Dadhapara railway station on Saturday evening. Just six months into his marriage, Anand recorded a heart-wrenching 29-minute video detailing the harassment and mental torture he faced, blaming his wife, in-laws, and her ex-boyfriend.

Final 29-Minute Message Before Death

In the video, Anand says:

“I loved her deeply, but she left me under the influence of her mother and sisters. No one is willing to listen to my pain anymore.”

Anand uploaded this video to YouTube before taking his life, hoping to make his story heard.

A Marriage That Lasted Only 4 Months

Anand married Shubhi Devangan on 27 November 2024. However, the marriage soon turned sour. He alleged that his wife had two abortions and left his home on 24 March, never to return. Despite repeated attempts, he failed to bring her back, and her family cut all communication.

Helplessness in the Face of Law

Anand mentioned he consulted several lawyers, all of whom stated that the system favors the woman’s side.

“No matter how strong a man is, the law and society don’t hear his pain,” he said.

Allegations Against Wife’s Ex-Boyfriend

Anand made shocking accusations against his wife’s ex-boyfriend, Sandeep alias Sanju Thawalani, a garment trader. He alleged that Sanju harassed him with abusive calls and even had illicit relations with his wife’s mother and sisters by offering money and gifts.

A Simple Family, Running a Tiffin Service

Anand came from a humble background. His family runs a tiffin center, and he worked in a private job. He claimed to have fulfilled every demand of his wife, even before she could ask, yet received only mental anguish in return.

GRP Station In-Charge D.N. Srivastava confirmed the incident and said the post-mortem has been conducted. A case has been registered, and the suicide note and video are being examined. The police are investigating individuals named in the video and note, and appropriate legal action may follow.
