Two AK-47 Rifles Recovered in Rajasthan: NIA and Multiple Agencies Join Probe Against Lawrence Gang Network

1 Mins read

Jaipur/Dholpur/Churu: Rajasthan’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has unearthed a major criminal and arms smuggling nexus after recovering two AK-47 rifles from Dholpur and Churu districts. The seizures have alarmed national security agencies, prompting NIA and Haryana Police to immediately join the investigation.

The central focus now lies on how such deadly weapons entered India, who financed them, and how they were distributed within the Lawrence Bishnoi gang network.

Key Arrests and Discoveries:

  • On June 4, AGTF arrested Jeetu Chambal, brother of dacoit Ramdatt Chambal, and his father from Rajakhera (Dholpur) with an AK-47 rifle.
  • Later, based on leads, Shivraj from Jaipur was arrested.
  • Further raids in Churu led to the arrest of Jeetu Jodi, from whose farmland another AK-47 was recovered.

NIA & Agencies Trace Connections to Lawrence Gang

Interrogation has revealed that the weapons were supplied by gangsters Rohit Godara and Virendra Charan, allegedly close aides of Lawrence Bishnoi. The NIA is now mapping the arms supply network and has identified over a dozen suspects across multiple states.

Joint Operations Underway

AGTF has begun raids in Churu and Jhunjhunu to detain more suspects, while intelligence inputs are being actively shared with Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi Police.

“The recovery of two AK-47s is highly alarming. We’re pursuing high-level investigations and cross-state raids to fully dismantle this arms and gang network.”
