A tragic incident occurred in Bhusawar, Bharatpur on Saturday evening around 6:30 PM, when Dr. Vinod Meena (40), a general physician at the local Community Health Center (CHC), died after his car caught fire.
According to eyewitnesses, Dr. Meena was driving towards Weir when his car went out of control and rammed into a diagnostic center across the road—just 50 meters from the local police station. The car became stuck inside the shop, and smoke began to rise. As he tried to reverse, the car struck a rear wall forcefully and burst into flames.
Locals rushed to help, pouring water on the car, but the fire was too intense. They immediately called the police and fire brigade. Bhusawar SHO Naresh Kumar reached the spot with a team, and municipal firefighters managed to extinguish the fire after 25 minutes of effort. However, by the time they broke the car window, Dr. Meena had already succumbed to the flames.
Background of the Doctor
Dr. Vinod Meena hailed from Gangapur town in Sawai Madhopur district and had been working in Bhusawar for the last five years. His wife, Neelam Meena, is a government teacher posted in Banswara district. The couple has a one-and-a-half-year-old son.
Fire personnel Yogendra Singh said that upon arrival, they found the car engulfed in flames. Despite their rapid response, the fire’s intensity left no chance for survival.
Authorities are investigating whether the incident was caused by a mechanical fault or other reasons.
