JAIPUR: Smooth logistics and seamless connectivity are the backbone of any thriving industrial sector. Recognizing this critical need, the Rajasthan government is set to completely transform the freight and transportation landscape across its manufacturing hubs. In a major move to enhance the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and eliminate supply chain bottlenecks, the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) and the Public Works Department (PWD) have forged a strategic partnership.

Together, they will upgrade and construct crucial road networks that directly connect remote industrial areas to the main state highways, ensuring hassle-free movement of raw materials and finished goods.

The 50:50 Cost-Sharing Masterplan

To execute this large-scale infrastructure upgrade efficiently, the state has adopted a collaborative cost-sharing model. Under this initiative, 38 vital approach roads falling under the PWD’s jurisdiction have been identified for immediate widening, strengthening, and new construction.

The total estimated expenditure for this ambitious project stands at ₹290.82 crore. To ease the financial burden on a single entity, the funding will be split exactly in half—with RIICO and the PWD each bearing 50% of the total project cost.

Project Scope and Benefitting Districts

Covering a total spanning length of approximately 205 kilometers, this road network revamp is designed to provide maximum geographic coverage. The project will directly benefit entrepreneurs, factory owners, and heavy vehicle operators across 16 major industrial districts and zones in Rajasthan.

The primary districts slated to benefit from these upgraded approach roads include:

Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur, and Bhilwara

Abu Road, Balotra, Banswara, and Bharatpur

Churu, Dausa, Jalore, and Jhalawar

Neemrana, Sawai Madhopur, and Sriganganagar

Current Progress: Funds Transferred, Tenders Up Next

The administrative wheels are already turning rapidly to bring this project to the ground.

Official Approvals: The PWD issued the official administrative and financial sanction for the ₹290.82 crore budget on May 6, 2026. This followed a prior approval by the RIICO Board of Directors during their meeting on March 17, 2026.

Financial Transfer: Showing prompt commitment, RIICO has already transferred the first installment of ₹72.70 crore (half of its total ₹145.41 crore share) directly to the PWD.

Next Steps: With the initial funding secured and transferred, the PWD is now preparing to invite official tenders to commence the on-ground construction and strengthening work at the earliest.

Bonus Initiative: Resolving the Industrial Water Crisis

Beyond just road connectivity, RIICO is actively addressing other fundamental utility shortages in the state’s manufacturing zones. The corporation has greenlit an additional ₹143 crore project to establish a robust and uninterrupted drinking water supply system across 24 RIICO industrial areas.

This parallel utility project will be executed in collaboration with the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED). Unlike the road project, RIICO will provide 100% of the ₹143 crore funding to the PHED to ensure the swift implementation of these water facilities.

These comprehensive infrastructure upgrades highlight the state’s unwavering commitment to providing world-class facilities to investors and accelerating industrial growth across Rajasthan.

Disclaimer:

This news article has been independently written and restructured for informational purposes, based on official press releases and departmental notifications from the Government of Rajasthan. Project timelines, tendering processes, and budget executions are subject to the final administrative decisions of RIICO and the Public Works Department (PWD).

Jaipur: In a major move to accelerate industrial growth, the Rajasthan government has officially approved the new Land Allotment and Pricing Policy of the Rajasthan Industrial Corridors Development Corporation Limited (RIDCO). This highly anticipated decision clears the path for allotting industrial township plots within the Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar Industrial Area (JPMIA).

The policy is strategically designed to attract massive global investments and generate large-scale local employment opportunities across the region.

Key Features of the New Allotment Policy

The framework is aligned with the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) model, customized to suit the specific economic landscape of Rajasthan:

Transparent Digital Processing: Plot allocation will be managed entirely online through direct allotment, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects, and competitive e-auctions.

Long-Term Lease Duration: Standard industrial plots will be allocated on a long-term 99-year lease.

Sector-Specific Flexibility: Specialized facilities like warehousing, logistics, plug-and-play zones, and flatted factories can access flexible leases ranging from 33 to 66 years, with renewal options.

Financial Incentives: Early-bird investors who choose to make a one-time upfront payment will receive special discounts. Alternatively, a flexible option of 11 interest-bearing quarterly installments is available.

Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Model: The development of residential zones, social infrastructure, and Global Capability Centers (GCCs) will be actively driven via PPP models.

World-Class Infrastructure at Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar Industrial Area (JPMIA)

Developed as one of the five primary nodes under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), JPMIA is located in the Rohat tehsil—strategically situated 22 km from Jodhpur and 40 km from Pali. Rapid basic infrastructure construction is currently underway:

Infrastructure Category

Development Details

Road & Highway Access

Positioned directly on NH-62 and SH-64; NHAI has constructed dedicated underpasses for seamless heavy vehicle movement.

Rail Connection

Principle approval granted for a ₹823-crore project to double the railway line connecting Rohat and Marwar Junction.

Energy & Utilities

Indraprastha Gas Limited is set to lay a 4.5 km pipeline from the Mehsana-Bathinda gas grid. RIICO is coordinating with power discoms and the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) for uninterrupted power and water supply.

RIICO Managing Director and RIDCO CEO Mr. Suresh Ola confirmed that approximately 1,186 acres of land are available for acquisition in Phase-1. Plot demarcation is reaching its final stages, after which formal applications will be accepted. RIDCO had already issued work orders worth ₹370 crore in December 2025, and on-ground execution is progressing rapidly.

For official guidelines, specific terms and conditions, and accurate pricing details regarding land allotment, readers and prospective investors are advised to visit the official portals of RIDCO or RIICO.

JAIPUR.

Renowned historically for its rich cultural heritage and vast mineral wealth, Rajasthan is now standing at the threshold of a new industrial revolution under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. The state’s active participation in cutting-edge sectors like Information Technology, electronics manufacturing, and semiconductors is rapidly aligning it with the vision of “Viksit Rajasthan-2047” (Developed Rajasthan-2047). The launch of the state’s first semiconductor cluster in Bhiwadi is not merely an industrial milestone; it is a strategic shift that moves Rajasthan from traditional industrial models toward a high-tech, knowledge-based economy.

A New Chapter in Industrial History

May 15, 2026, marked a significant milestone for Rajasthan’s industrial landscape. The development of a greenfield electronics manufacturing cluster in the Salarpur-Khushkhera region of Bhiwadi, in collaboration with Elsina Electronics Manufacturing Cluster Pvt. Ltd., has established the nation’s first SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) semiconductor facility.

Key Highlights of the Cluster:

Substantial Investment: The cluster has already attracted investment proposals exceeding ₹1,200 crore.

Employment Generation: 11 companies have commenced operations with a combined investment of ₹900 crore, providing direct employment to over 2,700 people.

Scalable Capacity: With a current packaging capacity of approximately 60 million semiconductor units annually, there are strategic plans to scale this to 400–600 million units over the next 2–3 years.

The ‘Rajasthan Semiconductor Policy-2026’ and Opportunities for Youth

The ‘Rajasthan Semiconductor Policy,’ introduced by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma in March 2026, has positioned the state as a premier destination for global investors. Under this policy, industrial zones such as Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar and Kankani are being developed as specialized ‘Semiconductor Corridors,’ ensuring rapid land allotment and robust infrastructure support through a single-window system.

For the youth, this sector offers a golden opportunity. Under the “Chips to Startup” initiative, nine prominent academic institutions across Rajasthan have been equipped with world-class Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools. This empowers local talent to gain hands-on experience in chip designing and manufacturing within the state, reducing the need for migration.

India’s Strategic Leap in the Global Supply Chain

Semiconductors are the fundamental building blocks of modern technology—from mobile phones and electric vehicles to Artificial Intelligence and defense systems. By actively participating in the “India Semiconductor Mission 2.0,” which has received a budgetary allocation of ₹1,000 crore, Rajasthan is positioning itself as a vital node in the global electronics supply chain. Beyond mere manufacturing, the state is focusing on skill development in areas like machine automation, robotics, and quality control, ensuring a future-ready workforce.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s visionary approach is transforming Rajasthan’s identity from a land of tourism and deserts into a global ‘Electronics and Semiconductor Hub.’ As these initiatives gain momentum, Rajasthan is set to play a leading role in the mainstream of technological progress, cementing its status as a key driver of India’s future economic growth.
