Karauli: Stepping through the gates of a college for the first time is a major milestone for any student, but navigating the complex maze of admission procedures, form submissions, and subject choices can quickly become an overwhelming challenge. To ensure a smooth and hassle-free transition for these newcomers, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Karauli unit has rolled out a highly commendable initiative.

A dedicated ‘Assistance and Guidance Camp’ (Help Desk) has been set up by ABVP activists at the prestigious Government Post Graduate (PG) College in the city, aimed entirely at resolving the queries of newly admitted students and their parents.

From Subject Selection to Campus Navigation

At the help desk, ABVP volunteers extended a warm welcome to the freshers arriving for their admissions. The senior students and organizational office-bearers present at the camp took the time to meticulously explain the nuances of the admission process.

Beyond basic paperwork, the desk provided crucial academic counseling. Volunteers guided students on how to select the right subjects aligned with their career goals and offered detailed insights into the college’s various academic and administrative facilities, ensuring the freshers felt comfortable and well-informed in their new educational environment.

‘Always Committed to Student Welfare’: District Convener

Speaking at the event, ABVP District Convener Tilak Bhardwaj highlighted the core ideology and operational focus of the student organization.

“The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has been dedicated to advocating for student rights and welfare since its inception,” Bhardwaj stated. “Students transitioning from a school environment to a college campus often find themselves wandering in confusion due to a lack of proper information. This help desk was established specifically to bridge that gap, resolve their immediate problems, and provide them with a safe, cooperative, and welcoming atmosphere.”

A Coordinated Team Effort

The entire ABVP local unit was seen actively managing the frontlines at the camp, attentively listening to the students and providing instant solutions to their admission-related hurdles.

Prominent activists and student leaders, including City Secretary (Nagar Mantri) Piyush Sharma, Tushar Sharma, Makhan Rajput, Gajendra Jedia, and Charan Jat, played a pivotal role in the camp’s success. The team not only guided the freshers through the administrative red tape but also extended their heartfelt wishes for a bright, successful, and enriching college life ahead.

Jaipur: Rajasthan holds a rich, centuries-old legacy of philanthropy and community service. Keeping this noble tradition alive, the state is gearing up to felicitate extraordinary donors who have fundamentally transformed the infrastructure of government schools. The Education Department of Rajasthan is set to host the much-anticipated ’30th State-Level Bhamashah Award Ceremony’ on June 29, 2026, at the Birla Auditorium in Jaipur.

This year’s ceremony marks a monumental milestone, as generous benefactors have collectively contributed a staggering ₹318 crore towards the strengthening of the state’s educational ecosystem. During this grand event, 154 ‘Bhamashahs’ (philanthropists) and 97 ‘Preraks’ (motivators) will be officially recognized and honored by the state government.

Transparent Selection via ‘Gyan Sankalp Portal’

Sitaram Jat, the Director of Elementary Education, elaborated on the initiative, stating that the awards are dedicated to individuals and organizations that have provided crucial support for the construction of school buildings, additional classrooms, land donations, and other essential physical resources.

To ensure absolute transparency, applications were invited online through the government’s official ‘Gyan Sankalp Portal.’ The final list of awardees was meticulously curated based on stringent eligibility criteria.

Categories of State-Level Honors

The state-level ceremony will classify the awards into distinct categories based on the magnitude of the financial contributions:

Shiksha Vibhushan (49 Donors): This prestigious title will be conferred upon 49 exceptional philanthropists who have made massive contributions of ₹1 crore or more towards the education sector.

Shiksha Bhushan (105 Donors): This honor will be awarded to 105 donors whose financial support ranges between ₹30 lakh and ₹1 crore.

Prerak Samman (97 Motivators): Acknowledging the power of persuasion, the government will also honor 97 motivators who played a pivotal role in inspiring individuals to donate ₹50 lakh or more for school development.

A Legacy of Giving: 1995 to Present

The numbers reflect a massive wave of public participation in education. According to the Director of Education, the Bhamashah Awards initiative was first introduced in 1995. Up until the 29th edition of the ceremony, a total of 2,331 philanthropists had been honored for their historic cumulative contribution of ₹1,155.48 crore. In the 2025-26 academic session alone, the department witnessed an unprecedented influx of ₹318 crore.

District-Level Celebrations Across the State

June 29 will not only be celebrated in the capital but across the entire state. Simultaneous ‘District-Level Bhamashah Award Ceremonies’ will be held in all districts of Rajasthan. These local events will honor donors who have contributed amounts ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹29,99,999. In a decisive move to break these social chains, a massive administrative intervention has been initiated in the Masalpur block of Rajasthan’s Karauli district.

Coinciding with the ‘World Day Against Child Labour’, the local administration has sounded the bugle for a comprehensive ‘Back to School’ campaign. This ambitious drive, jointly spearheaded by the District Administration and the ActionAid Association-DMG Events under the ‘Child Marriage Prevention and Eradication Project‘, aims to identify and re-enroll out-of-school children, particularly young girls. The launch event was chaired by Block Development Officer (BDO) Mohanlal Sharma at the Masalpur Panchayat Samiti hall.

The Alarming Ground Reality: 595 Girls at Risk of Child Marriage

This campaign is not based on mere estimates but is driven by a meticulous ‘Vulnerability Mapping’ report prepared from ground-zero surveys. The staggering data presented during the launch highlights the urgent need for intervention:

Survey Scope: The mapping covered 30 villages across the Masalpur block.

Families Reached: A total of 5,063 households were surveyed.

Vulnerable Households: Out of these, 3,074 families were found to be living under severe social and economic risks.

The Critical Crisis: The survey identified 677 girls who have dropped out of school and 595 girls who are currently at a high risk of being pushed into child marriage.

Based on these stark realities, the administration has formulated a targeted intervention strategy to protect these children.

The ‘Back to School’ Masterplan

Dinesh Kumar Bairwa, the District Coordinator for ActionAid Association, outlined the campaign’s roadmap. He announced that this intensive drive will run simultaneously in the Masalpur and Sapotra blocks until July 12, 2026.

The primary objective is to eradicate child marriage and labor through aggressive community sensitization. At the village and ward levels, the teams will conduct awareness rallies, hold community meetings (Jan Samvad), initiate door-to-door dialogues with parents, and actively facilitate the school re-enrollment of identified dropout children.

A United Administrative Front for Child Rights

Addressing the gathering, BDO Mohanlal Sharma stated that child labor and child marriage are direct violations of fundamental human rights, crippling a child’s physical, mental, and social growth. He urged all public representatives, government departments, and citizens to actively participate in bringing these children back to the mainstream education system.

Various departmental representatives detailed their specific roles in this mission:

Education Department: RP Ravindra Rawat explained the strategies being deployed to ensure the re-enrollment and continuous attendance of the identified dropout children.

Women & Child Development (WCD): Antima Sharma shed light on pre-primary education, health, and nutritional schemes designed for the holistic development of young girls.

Law Enforcement: Child Welfare Police Officer Gajraj Singh (Masalpur Police Station) assured strict enforcement of child protection laws and robust police backing for the campaign.

Legal Aid & Helplines: Radharaman Saraswat, PLV of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), shared details about the NALSA helpline (15100). Additionally, Childline 1098 in-charge Bhikam Singh educated the attendees about the rescue, rehabilitation, and immediate assistance mechanisms available for children in distress.

The event also saw active participation from Shailendra Singh (District President, Village Development Officers Union), who emphasized the crucial role of local Panchayats. ActionAid’s community trainer Jagdish Jat, block coordinator Gaurav Kumari, and volunteer Ramraj Gurjar, along with numerous social workers, took a collective pledge to ensure that every child’s right to a safe childhood and quality education is protected.

Gangapur City: The transition into college life and the lengthy paperwork of the admission process can often be a daunting experience for new students. To ease the burden of technical and practical formalities, particularly document verification, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) took a highly commendable step at the Government College in Gangapur City, Rajasthan.

Aiming to pave a smoother path for incoming freshers, the local ABVP unit organized a special ‘Help Desk’ camp on the college campus.

Seamless Guidance During Document Verification

The primary objective of this assistance camp was to simplify the form-filling and document-checking procedures for newly enrolled students. Often, freshers face confusion and anxiety due to a lack of accurate information regarding official requirements.

During the camp, ABVP volunteers meticulously examined the students’ documents one by one, guided them through the correct procedural steps, and resolved various technical glitches on the spot. This proactive guidance provided massive relief to hundreds of students waiting in long admission queues.

Campaign Led by Key Office Bearers

This student assistance camp was organized under the efficient leadership of ABVP District Convener Abhishek Sonwal. Throughout the day, several prominent office bearers and active members of the organization stood at the forefront to extend their support to the youth.

Key members present at the camp included:

Payal Prajapat: District Girl Student Head

Manoj Saini: State Executive Member

Gaurav Shakya: Division Convener

Sumit Verma and Riya Agarwal: Active workers and other unit members.

Initiative Applauded by Students and Parents

The noble service and positive initiative undertaken by the ABVP received immense appreciation from the newly admitted students as well as their parents. Guardians present at the venue highlighted that such help desks are particularly beneficial for students traveling from far-flung rural areas, as they save valuable time, prevent multiple trips to the college, and significantly reduce mental stress during the admission rush.

Jaipur | May 12, 2026

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Rajasthan has achieved a significant milestone in the field of school education. The latest report from NITI Aayog identifies Rajasthan as the only state in the country with such a robust network for providing education from primary to senior secondary levels under one roof.

Integrated Education: Rajasthan’s Key Statistics

The NITI Aayog report underlines that while the structure of integrated education (Classes 1 to 12) remains limited across India, Rajasthan has made unprecedented progress:

National Share: As of the 2024-25 data, Rajasthan alone accounts for nearly 35% of all schools in India that offer education from Class 1 through 12.

One in Three: This means that every third school in India providing integrated 1-12 education is located in Rajasthan.

Total Schools: The state operates 27,889 such schools, ensuring students do not need to change institutions as they progress from primary to senior secondary levels.

Impact on Reducing Drop-out Rates

The NITI Aayog report highlights a critical link between school structure and “drop-out” rates:

Complexity of Re-admission: According to the findings, when school systems are fragmented (e.g., separate primary and secondary schools), students must undergo the admission process multiple times.

The Advantage of Continuity: In Rajasthan, the availability of continuous education from Class 1 to 12 removes the hurdle of switching schools. This maintains educational continuity and significantly reduces the risk of students dropping out.

A Growing Center for Educational Excellence

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Rajasthan is focusing not just on infrastructure but also on enhancing the quality of the learning environment. The state government’s continuous efforts to expand and upgrade educational institutions have led to marked improvements in national educational indicators.

Conclusion

NITI Aayog’s recognition of Rajasthan’s educational model validates the success of the state’s policies. This ‘Rajasthan Model’ of integrated schooling offers a potential roadmap for other states to improve education quality and student retention across India.

Tighariya (Rajasthan): In the landscape of Indian public education, the transformation of a rural government school into a center of excellence is often considered a Herculean task. However, the Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) in Tighariya has defied all odds to emerge as a beacon of modern learning. The architect of this remarkable metamorphosis is its Principal, Govind Singh Gurjar, a visionary leader whose dedication and hard-work have redefined what it means to lead an educational institution.

Leadership by Example: The 10-Minute Discipline

One of the most profound changes Mr. Gurjar brought to GSSS Tighariya is a culture of unwavering discipline. Believing that a leader must first embody the standards they set for others, he follows a strict personal rule: arriving at the school premises at least 10 minutes before the official opening time.

This simple yet powerful gesture has trickled down to every staff member and student. In an environment where punctuality was once a variable, it is now a constant. Seeing their Principal present before everyone else has inspired teachers to be more dedicated and students to value the sanctity of time. This disciplinary foundation has significantly improved the overall teaching-learning atmosphere of the school.

Redefining Academic Standards: 100% Results and Toppers

The ultimate litmus test for any school is its academic performance, and under Mr. Gurjar’s stewardship, GSSS Tighariya has soared to new heights. For several consecutive years, the school has maintained a 100% passing rate in board examinations—a feat that many private institutions struggle to achieve.

Beyond just passing, the students are excelling at the state level. During his tenure, a student from the school secured a staggering 97% score, becoming a regional topper. Such results have shattered the myth that government school students cannot compete with their private-school counterparts. This academic success is the direct result of rigorous monitoring, personalized student attention, and the motivation provided by Mr. Gurjar.

Mobilizing the Community: A Rs 40 Lakh Infrastructure Revamp

Realizing that government funding alone might not be enough to turn the school into a high-tech facility, Govind Singh Gurjar took a proactive approach by engaging with the local community and ‘Bhamashahs’ (philanthropists). He successfully bridges the gap between public administration and social responsibility.

Through his persistent efforts and transparent communication, he mobilized public representatives and donors to invest nearly Rs 40 lakh into the school’s development. These funds have been utilized for structural repairs, beautification, and the installation of essential facilities. Today, the school campus boasts of clean drinking water, lush green gardens, and an aesthetic environment that fosters creativity and peace of mind among students.

Bridging the Digital Divide: The AC and Wi-Fi Library

Perhaps the most celebrated achievement of Mr. Gurjar is the establishment of a state-of-the-art library. In a village where basic digital access is often a luxury, GSSS Tighariya now houses a modern library equipped with Air Conditioning (AC) and high-speed Wi-Fi.

What makes this initiative even more commendable is that these facilities are provided free of cost to all village children, not just the enrolled students. This digital hub serves as a critical resource for students preparing for competitive exams, allowing them access to online study materials and a quiet environment that is otherwise hard to find in rural households. This initiative is a prime example of bridging the digital divide at the grassroots level.

A Vision for Holistic Development

Mr. Gurjar’s educational philosophy extends far beyond textbooks and classrooms. He is a firm believer in holistic development, ensuring that students are given ample opportunities in sports, arts, and moral education. He frequently organizes career counseling sessions, helping students from humble backgrounds dream big and realize their potential in various professional fields.

By fostering a positive and inclusive environment, he has turned the school into a place where every child feels valued. His role as a mentor has earned him immense respect from parents and the village community, who now see the local government school as a preferred choice for their children’s education.

Conclusion: A Blueprint for Educational Leadership

Govind Singh Gurjar is more than just a Principal; he is a social engineer who has used the tool of education to uplift an entire community. His journey at GSSS Tighariya serves as a blueprint for educational leaders across the country. It proves that with a blend of discipline, community participation, and a futuristic vision, any ordinary institution can be transformed into an extraordinary one. He remains a true inspiration for the teaching fraternity and a hero for the students of Tighariya.
