Karauli, Rajasthan : Women from the Jatav colony of Gram Panchayat Mamchari in Karauli district submitted a memorandum to the District Collector on Thursday, urging the administration to extend the Jal Jeevan Mission pipeline to their locality.

According to the residents, the colony has been facing a severe shortage of drinking water for several years. Due to the lack of a proper water supply, families are forced to travel long distances every day to collect water, creating significant hardship, especially for women.

Demand for Pipeline Through the Drainage Route

The villagers stated that if a water pipeline is laid through the drainage route passing near the Jatav colony, the area could be connected to the Jal Jeevan Mission network. They believe this would provide a permanent solution to the drinking water crisis and ensure a regular water supply to the residents.

Appeal for Immediate Action

Through the memorandum, the women requested the District Collector to direct the concerned department to carry out the pipeline work at the earliest. They expressed hope that timely action by the administration would help resolve the long-pending water problem and improve the living conditions of families in the colony.

Concurrently, the vital responsibility of ‘City Secretary’ (Nagar Mantri) has been handed over to Tushar Sharma.

Key Portfolio Allocations within the Committee

In order to drive specialized student wings, campus activities, and media outreach systematically, specific convenors were appointed to head various wings. The key appointments include:

Jaipur. The administration has taken a strict stance following major negligence in the operation of government schemes in the Karauli district of Rajasthan. The Labor Department has suspended two labor inspectors with immediate effect on charges of dereliction of duty and irregularities. Along with the suspension, departmental disciplinary proceedings have also been initiated against both officials.

This stringent action was taken under the directives of Labor Commissioner Mrs. Pooja Kumari Parth. The department had been receiving complaints regarding delays in processing crucial applications related to worker welfare, which prevented eligible beneficiaries from availing the benefits of government schemes on time.

Recognizing the gravity of the matter, a preliminary investigation was conducted at a higher level, which confirmed prima facie negligence and non-compliance with prescribed administrative procedures. Prompted by these findings, the administration issued immediate suspension orders.

Names of the Suspended Officials

According to official information received from the Labor Department, the suspended officials include Labor Inspector Mr. Rajesh Kumar Meena and Labor Inspector Mr. Baldev Singh, both posted at the Office of the Labor Welfare Officer in Karauli. Both inspectors face serious allegations of shelving cases within their jurisdiction and failing to process them within the mandated timeframe.

Serious Irregularities in Scheme Implementation

The entire matter is linked to the ‘Shramik Shiksha evam Kaushal Yojana’ (Worker Education and Skill Scheme), operated by the Rajasthan Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. This scheme is designed for the educational and skill development of registered construction workers and their children.

The investigation revealed that multiple applications under this scheme were pending with the two inspectors. These cases were required to be resolved systematically and within a stipulated timeframe. The department considered this delay and laxity in processing the applications as a serious offense.

Zero Tolerance for Negligence: Labor Commissioner

Taking a tough stance on the issue, Labor Commissioner Mrs. Pooja Kumari Parth clarified that the department is fully committed to the welfare of workers. She emphasized that the benefits of state government public welfare schemes must reach the last person in line within the designated time limit.

“Any kind of negligence, irregularity, or laxity in the operation of schemes will not be tolerated. If any officer or employee is found apathetic towards their duties in the future, strict disciplinary action will be taken against them as per the rules.” — Mrs. Pooja Kumari Parth, Labor Commissioner

Conclusion

The suspension of the two labor inspectors in Karauli is a clear indicator that the Rajasthan Labor Department is enforcing strict accountability regarding the implementation of its schemes. This action will not only expedite the resolution of pending cases but also strengthen discipline within the government machinery, ensuring that poor and needy workers receive their rightful benefits on time.

KARAULI: Journalists, serving as the fourth pillar of democracy, have raised their voices to protect their safety, dignity, and professional rights. In the Karauli district of Rajasthan, a delegation of journalists submitted a crucial memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister through the District Collector on Friday, June 21. Through this charter, a major demand has been raised for the state government to implement the ‘Journalist Protection Act’ at the earliest and to allot residential plots for media professionals in the district.

Key Highlights of the Report:

Memorandum to Collector: Karauli journalists submitted a formal memorandum concerning their safety, dignity, and welfare.

Demand for Protection Act: Urgent call for the swift implementation of the ‘Journalist Protection Act’ and strict action against harassment.

Hindaun City Resolution: The proposals were unanimously passed during a recent journalist convention held in Hindaun City.

Welfare Benefits: Appeal for residential plot allotments, comprehensive health and accident insurance, and simplified press accreditation procedures.

Growing Concerns Over the Safety of Democracy’s Sentinels

The memorandum submitted to the Collector clearly states that journalists serve as a vital bridge between society and the administration. They fearlessly highlight public issues and grievances to the government with complete impartiality. However, in recent times, media professionals uncovering the truth have frequently faced threats, physical assaults, and mental harassment, which poses a serious concern for a healthy democracy.

Consensus Reached at the Hindaun City Convention

Notably, a large-scale journalist convention and seminar were organized recently in Hindaun City within the district. Media professionals from across the region participated in this event to extensively discuss the rising challenges in the field of journalism. Several resolutions regarding the welfare and safety of journalists were unanimously passed during this seminar, which have now been formally presented to the administration.

Major Demands Listed in the Memorandum

The charter of demands draws the state government’s attention to several critical points:

Journalist Protection Act: Enacting a strict law to prevent attacks on media personnel and ensuring swift legal action against perpetrators.

Residential Housing Scheme: Introducing a dedicated land allotment scheme for working journalists to provide residential plots in Karauli district.

Insurance and Welfare Fund: Strengthening the ‘Journalist Welfare Fund’ and introducing cashless health insurance and accidental insurance coverage for media professionals.

Protection Against False Cases: Ensuring a fair and unbiased investigation into false cases registered to intimidate journalists, along with simplifying the official press accreditation process.

Call for an Independent Working Environment

The delegation urged the District Collector to take a positive stance on these justified demands and forward their recommendations to the state government. The journalists emphasized that a safe, secure, and independent environment is absolutely essential to work without fear or external pressure. Continuous neglect of journalists’ welfare would ultimately weaken democratic values.

In a major push to provide immediate administrative relief to citizens at the grassroots level, the Karauli Municipal Council organized an urban service camp on Monday. Taking stock of the ground reality, District In-charge Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham conducted a surprise inspection of the camps held for Wards 4, 5, and 6. The event also witnessed a highly appreciated gesture from local MLA Darshan Singh Gurjar, who went out of his way to personally assist an elderly woman with her land lease (Patta) application.

Key Highlights of the Report

Strict Directives for On-the-Spot Resolutions

While inspecting the camp, Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham meticulously reviewed the stalls set up by various government departments. Engaging directly with officials and staff, he assessed the progress of ongoing public welfare schemes. The Minister issued stern directives that every citizen’s grievance must be prioritized and resolved on the spot. He emphasized that the core objective of these camps is to prevent the public from running pillar to post in government offices and to ensure maximum delivery of state benefits.

Direct Interaction with the Public

During his visit, Minister Bedham did not just limit himself to administrative reviews; he actively interacted with the beneficiaries and local citizens present at the camp. After patiently listening to their everyday hurdles, he immediately instructed the designated officers to resolve them without delay. Expressing satisfaction with the overall camp arrangements, he urged the officials to serve the public with utmost sensitivity and appealed to the citizens to participate in such camps in large numbers.

MLA Darshan Singh’s Compassionate Initiative

Amidst the administrative hustle, a highly emotional and inspiring scene unfolded. Karauli MLA Darshan Singh Gurjar noticed an elderly woman looking distressed regarding her ‘Patta’ (land lease) application. Showing immense empathy, the MLA immediately stepped forward and personally signed her application form as a designated witness. His spontaneous humanitarian intervention not only fast-tracked the elderly woman’s pending paperwork but also drew widespread praise from everyone present at the venue.

Karauli: Stepping through the gates of a college for the first time is a major milestone for any student, but navigating the complex maze of admission procedures, form submissions, and subject choices can quickly become an overwhelming challenge. To ensure a smooth and hassle-free transition for these newcomers, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Karauli unit has rolled out a highly commendable initiative.

A dedicated ‘Assistance and Guidance Camp’ (Help Desk) has been set up by ABVP activists at the prestigious Government Post Graduate (PG) College in the city, aimed entirely at resolving the queries of newly admitted students and their parents.

From Subject Selection to Campus Navigation

At the help desk, ABVP volunteers extended a warm welcome to the freshers arriving for their admissions. The senior students and organizational office-bearers present at the camp took the time to meticulously explain the nuances of the admission process.

Beyond basic paperwork, the desk provided crucial academic counseling. Volunteers guided students on how to select the right subjects aligned with their career goals and offered detailed insights into the college’s various academic and administrative facilities, ensuring the freshers felt comfortable and well-informed in their new educational environment.

‘Always Committed to Student Welfare’: District Convener

Speaking at the event, ABVP District Convener Tilak Bhardwaj highlighted the core ideology and operational focus of the student organization.

“The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has been dedicated to advocating for student rights and welfare since its inception,” Bhardwaj stated. “Students transitioning from a school environment to a college campus often find themselves wandering in confusion due to a lack of proper information. This help desk was established specifically to bridge that gap, resolve their immediate problems, and provide them with a safe, cooperative, and welcoming atmosphere.”

A Coordinated Team Effort

The entire ABVP local unit was seen actively managing the frontlines at the camp, attentively listening to the students and providing instant solutions to their admission-related hurdles.

Prominent activists and student leaders, including City Secretary (Nagar Mantri) Piyush Sharma, Tushar Sharma, Makhan Rajput, Gajendra Jedia, and Charan Jat, played a pivotal role in the camp’s success. The team not only guided the freshers through the administrative red tape but also extended their heartfelt wishes for a bright, successful, and enriching college life ahead.

Masalpur (Karauli): Childhood is meant for classrooms and playgrounds, yet thousands of children are silently pushed into the grueling worlds of child labor or early marriage. In a decisive move to break these social chains, a massive administrative intervention has been initiated in the Masalpur block of Rajasthan’s Karauli district.

Coinciding with the ‘World Day Against Child Labour’, the local administration has sounded the bugle for a comprehensive ‘Back to School’ campaign. This ambitious drive, jointly spearheaded by the District Administration and the ActionAid Association-DMG Events under the ‘Child Marriage Prevention and Eradication Project‘, aims to identify and re-enroll out-of-school children, particularly young girls. The launch event was chaired by Block Development Officer (BDO) Mohanlal Sharma at the Masalpur Panchayat Samiti hall.

The Alarming Ground Reality: 595 Girls at Risk of Child Marriage

This campaign is not based on mere estimates but is driven by a meticulous ‘Vulnerability Mapping’ report prepared from ground-zero surveys. The staggering data presented during the launch highlights the urgent need for intervention:

Survey Scope: The mapping covered 30 villages across the Masalpur block.

Families Reached: A total of 5,063 households were surveyed.

Vulnerable Households: Out of these, 3,074 families were found to be living under severe social and economic risks.

The Critical Crisis: The survey identified 677 girls who have dropped out of school and 595 girls who are currently at a high risk of being pushed into child marriage.

Based on these stark realities, the administration has formulated a targeted intervention strategy to protect these children.

The ‘Back to School’ Masterplan

Dinesh Kumar Bairwa, the District Coordinator for ActionAid Association, outlined the campaign’s roadmap. He announced that this intensive drive will run simultaneously in the Masalpur and Sapotra blocks until July 12, 2026.

The primary objective is to eradicate child marriage and labor through aggressive community sensitization. At the village and ward levels, the teams will conduct awareness rallies, hold community meetings (Jan Samvad), initiate door-to-door dialogues with parents, and actively facilitate the school re-enrollment of identified dropout children.

A United Administrative Front for Child Rights

Addressing the gathering, BDO Mohanlal Sharma stated that child labor and child marriage are direct violations of fundamental human rights, crippling a child’s physical, mental, and social growth. He urged all public representatives, government departments, and citizens to actively participate in bringing these children back to the mainstream education system.

Various departmental representatives detailed their specific roles in this mission:

Education Department: RP Ravindra Rawat explained the strategies being deployed to ensure the re-enrollment and continuous attendance of the identified dropout children.

Women & Child Development (WCD): Antima Sharma shed light on pre-primary education, health, and nutritional schemes designed for the holistic development of young girls.

Law Enforcement: Child Welfare Police Officer Gajraj Singh (Masalpur Police Station) assured strict enforcement of child protection laws and robust police backing for the campaign.

Legal Aid & Helplines: Radharaman Saraswat, PLV of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), shared details about the NALSA helpline (15100). Additionally, Childline 1098 in-charge Bhikam Singh educated the attendees about the rescue, rehabilitation, and immediate assistance mechanisms available for children in distress.

The event also saw active participation from Shailendra Singh (District President, Village Development Officers Union), who emphasized the crucial role of local Panchayats. ActionAid’s community trainer Jagdish Jat, block coordinator Gaurav Kumari, and volunteer Ramraj Gurjar, along with numerous social workers, took a collective pledge to ensure that every child’s right to a safe childhood and quality education is protected.

Disclaimer: This news report is based on the vulnerability mapping data, official statements, and information shared by the District Administration and ActionAid Association during the event. It has been published for informational purposes to promote public awareness regarding child rights and education. The exact demographic numbers are subject to official administrative records.

Karauli: To showcase a decade-plus journey of nationwide progress and policy transformations, a grand three-day ‘Development Exhibition’ was officially inaugurated at the Town Hall of the Information Centre in Karauli. Organized to commemorate the successful completion of 12 years of the Central Government, the event was formally opened on Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by local MLA Darshan Singh Gurjar.

The exhibition serves as a visual bridge between the government and the public, aiming to spread widespread awareness about various public welfare schemes, flagship programs, and the infrastructural milestones achieved by both the central and state governments.

“Welfare Schemes Reaching the Last Person in Line”

Addressing the gathering during the inauguration, MLA Darshan Singh Gurjar highlighted the synchronized efforts of the current leadership. He stated that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the center and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma in Rajasthan, development is scaling new heights every day.

The MLA emphasized the government’s core philosophy of ‘Antyodaya’, assuring that the administration remains highly committed to ensuring the benefits of welfare schemes reach the most marginalized individuals—the last person standing in the line. The exhibition vividly captures these 12 years of central achievements through detailed pictorial representations, while also highlighting the milestones that have placed Rajasthan at the forefront on a national level.

“12 Years of Trust, Development, and Public Welfare”

The event is being overseen by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR). Assistant Director Dharmendra Kumar Meena shared that the core theme of the exhibition is “12 saal vishwas ke, vikas ke, jankalyan ke” (12 Years of Trust, Development, and Public Welfare).

He noted that the local populace is showing immense enthusiasm and actively participating in the event. Through creative displays, the exhibition offers a deep dive into revolutionary changes across critical sectors, including:

Rural Development & Infrastructure

Women’s Empowerment & Safety

Farmer Welfare & Agricultural Policies

Youth Employment & Skill Development

Health, Education, and Water Conservation

Meena appealed to the citizens of Karauli district to visit the Town Hall in large numbers over the next three days to maximize their understanding of these beneficial schemes.

Prominent Dignitaries in Attendance

The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of several key administrative and departmental figures, reinforcing the event’s significance. Prominent attendees included Additional District Collector Hemraj Paridwal, public representative Govardhan Singh, Industries Department General Manager Ganesh Sharma, Animal Husbandry Joint Director Dr. Gangasahai Meena, Ayurveda Department Deputy Director Kaduram Meena, and PMO Dr. Ramkesh Meena. Enthusiastic volunteers from the Scout and Guide also contributed to the successful management of the event.

Karauli: The essential workers who protect the city from fire emergencies and keep its streets clean are now struggling to feed their own families. Driven to desperation by the non-payment of their salaries for up to nine months, contract workers in Rajasthan’s Karauli district have officially gone on strike.

Fire brigade personnel, sanitation vehicle drivers, and night shelter (Rain Basera) caretakers organized a massive protest march, walking from the Karauli Fire Station directly to the District Collectorate. Handing over a detailed memorandum to the administration, the agitating workers demanded immediate intervention to clear their long-pending dues from various contractors.

Severe Financial Crisis Hits Essential Workers

The prolonged delay in salary disbursement has pushed these frontline workers to the brink of a severe financial crisis. Workers expressed their deep frustration, stating that despite performing their duties with complete dedication, the sheer negligence of the contractors has forced them to borrow money just to survive. Left with no other option to sustain their livelihoods, they were compelled to launch a mass protest.

Contractors Named in the Memorandum

The official memorandum submitted at the Collectorate explicitly details the outstanding wages withheld by specific agencies:

Bhagat Contractor (Karauli): Pending salary for 4 months (up to October 2024).

M/s Bharatiya Gramin Vikas Seva Sansthan (Dholpur): Pending salary for 2 months (January and February 2026).

M/s Chaudhary Construction & Suppliers (Dausa): Pending salary for 3 months.

Impact of the Strike: Sanitation System Collapses

The mass strike by field staff and sanitation drivers has brought Karauli’s waste management system to a grinding halt. Massive piles of unattended garbage have accumulated across various wards and residential colonies. The rotting waste is emitting a foul stench, making it difficult for local residents to step out of their homes and raising fears of a potential disease outbreak.

The protesting workers have issued a stern warning to the administration: if their pending salaries are not credited immediately, they will escalate their agitation, holding the local administration and the contractors entirely responsible for the deteriorating conditions in the city.

Disclaimer: This news report is based on the official memorandum submitted by the protesting employees and initial ground reports. Claims regarding the exact duration and amount of unpaid dues by specific contractors are subject to official administrative verification and departmental inquiry. This article is published solely for informational purposes and public awareness.
