Jaipur, June 1, 2026: The unique ‘Rajasthan Development Model’—encompassing the state’s welfare schemes and administrative reforms—is earning widespread appreciation across the country. Following immense praise from top officials of various Central Ministries during recent meetings in New Delhi, Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas convened a high-level review meeting at the State Secretariat on Monday. He issued strict directives to department officials to implement the government’s flagship schemes, infrastructure projects, and administrative reforms at an accelerated pace on the ground.

Rajasthan’s Innovations Recognized as National ‘Best Practices’

The Chief Secretary highlighted that several rural and youth-centric initiatives launched by the Rajasthan government have been recognized as ‘Best Practices’ at the national level. Several other states have expressed interest in adopting these models:

Key Initiatives: Programs such as Gram Vikas Chaupal, Gram Rath Abhiyan, Mukhyamantri Viksit Gram Abhiyan, Chandan Van, MY Bharat, and Raj Unnati have received national acclaim.

Documenting Success: The Chief Secretary instructed the concerned officials to ensure effective documentation of all these successful innovations and compile compelling ‘Success Stories’ to be shared on national platforms.

Major Push for Refinery, Gas Networks, and Industrial Infrastructure

To transform the state’s industrial and energy landscape, several critical deadlines were established during the meeting:

Piped Gas Connections: Coordinating with City Gas Distributors, officials have been given a strict target to make 43,000 new piped gas connections live by June 30, 2026.

Barmer Refinery & Connectivity: Directives were issued to expedite the inauguration of the HRRL refinery project. Additionally, the Mines and Petroleum Department was instructed to resolve the pending Balotra-Pachpadra pipeline railway connectivity issues in coordination with the Ministry of Railways and the district administration.

Model Industrial Park: The progress of the proposed Model Industrial Park by the Sembcorp Group in the Bandikui region of Dausa district was reviewed, with instructions for swift processing of investment proposals.

Cultural Preservation & Good Governance (Gyan Bharatam Mission)

Digitization of Ancient Texts: Under the ‘Gyan Bharatam Mission’—a special priority of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi—the Chief Secretary directed the Department of Art and Culture, the Sanskrit Education Department, and the Directorate of Oriental Languages to prioritize the digitization and preservation of ancient manuscripts and texts.

Zero Tolerance for Corruption: Emphasizing the state government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption, strict instructions were given to ensure swift action against offenders. Furthermore, Rajasthan’s monthly evaluation report on deregulation and compliance reduction was praised nationally, and regular monitoring was mandated to maintain this standard.

Border Area Development and Security (Vibrant Village Program)

Reviewing the compliance of directives issued during the Union Home Minister’s visit to Rajasthan, the Chief Secretary took a firm stance on border security and development:

4G Connectivity & Roads: Under the ‘Vibrant Village Program’, infrastructure in border villages is being heavily fortified. The government has set a target to ensure 100% 4G connectivity and paved road access in all vibrant villages by November 2026.

Identity Verification in Border Districts: From a security standpoint, the Chief Secretary ordered the mandatory completion of 100% verification of citizens’ government identity cards (Aadhaar IDs) in border districts by October 2026. The Administrative Reforms Department, the IT Department, and the Postal Department will coordinate to execute this task.

Senior officials, including the Additional Chief Secretaries of Water Resources, Mines and Petroleum, Industries, Forest and Environment, PWD, and Sports departments, attended the meeting via Video Conferencing (VC).
