Jaipur, June 15, 2026. Taking a decisive stand toward making Rajasthan crime-free and secure, Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against criminal activities. During a high-level crime review meeting held via video conferencing at the Police Headquarters in Jaipur on Monday, the DGP issued clear directives to police officials across the state to immediately demolish illegal properties acquired by gangsters. Furthermore, the police will now take stringent action against individuals who misuse the law to file false cases.

Key Highlights of the Meeting:

Strike Against Gangsters: The administration will bulldoze illegal properties owned by organized criminals and extortionists; their bank accounts will also be under constant surveillance.

Action Against Fake FIRs: A strict approach will be adopted against those who mislead the law by filing fabricated cases.

Curbing Drugs and Cyber Fraud: Special action plans will be formulated against drug peddlers, with swift measures promised for cases involving ‘digital arrest’ and online scams.

NEET Exam Security: Stringent security arrangements are in place for the upcoming NEET examination, with continuous monitoring through CCTV cameras.

Zero Tolerance for Organized Crime and Cyber Fraud

Addressing the meeting, DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma stated that the dream of a ‘Developed Rajasthan’ can only be realized when the state’s law and order are robust. He instructed all Range IGs and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to ensure the effective implementation of new criminal laws. Orders have been issued to confiscate the properties of gangs involved in extortion to dismantle their criminal influence. Additionally, emphasis was placed on providing specialized training to police personnel in modern technical investigation methods to combat the rising tide of digital arrests and online fraud.

Anti-Drug Campaign and Clearance of Pending Cases

To break the cycle of drug abuse among the youth, all District SPs have been directed to launch a structured and systematic campaign. The DGP instructed officers to ensure that any sensitive incident is reported immediately to the Police Headquarters so that necessary guidance and support can be provided in time. Furthermore, the focus remains on disposing of long-pending cases and old files in police stations to ensure prompt justice for victims.

Focus on Road Safety Awareness and NEET Exam

Expressing concern over road accidents, the DGP remarked that a single accident affects an entire family. He directed officials to ensure 100% adherence to lane discipline on National Highways and urban areas, while implementing strict enforcement against traffic rule violators. He also mandated year-round road safety awareness campaigns. Regarding the upcoming NEET examination, the DGP directed that all necessary arrangements be made for a smooth and peaceful conduct of the exam, emphasizing strict adherence to guidelines and continuous surveillance through CCTV.

A Massive Single-Day Operation: 7,721 Violators Booked

The scale of the operation was evident on Sunday, June 14, 2026, when Rajasthan Police penalized a staggering 7,721 vehicles in just 24 hours. The crackdown primarily focused on elements that hinder visibility or cause public nuisance.

The official breakdown of the action taken on June 14 includes:

Black Film (Tinted Windows): 2,853 vehicles (The highest number of violations).

Faulty Number Plates: 1,989 vehicles penalized for non-standard or unauthorized plates.

In the statewide performance rankings for the June 14 operation, Kota City emerged at the top with 406 registered cases. Other major districts and police units also reported significant enforcement activities:

District/Unit

Number of Actions Taken

Kota City

406

Alwar

388

Jaipur West

378

Jaipur Rural

338

Jaipur Traffic

303

Bhilwara

297

Chittorgarh

296

The widespread action across these districts highlights the police’s commitment to eliminating “VIP culture” symbols like illegal hooters and red-blue lights.

A Call for Public Cooperation

DG Traffic Anil Paliwal emphasized that the primary goal of this special campaign is to reduce road accidents and foster a culture of disciplined driving. He stated that illegal modifications like black films are often used by anti-social elements to evade detection, making them a serious security risk.

The Rajasthan Police has issued a formal appeal to the public, urging vehicle owners to voluntarily remove illegal pressure horns, unauthorized sirens, and black window films. “Abiding by traffic rules is not just about avoiding fines; it is about ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the road,” the department stated.

With the campaign set to continue until the end of June, the police have indicated that the intensity of checks will remain high to ensure that Rajasthan’s roads become a model for safety and order.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan Police has intensified its massive statewide traffic enforcement campaign against violators and those flaunting ‘VIP culture’ on the roads. Acting on the strict directives of Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma, the special drive has now reached its peak. On the 10th day of the campaign, authorities set up extensive barricades across the state and took legal action—including issuing challans and seizing vehicles—against a staggering 9,703 offenders.

Cracking Down on VIP Culture and Traffic Violations

Conducted under the supervision of DG (Traffic) Shri Anil Paliwal, the primary goal of this campaign is to ensure road safety and curb illegal vehicle modifications. Additional Director General of Police (Traffic), Dr. B.L. Meena, stated that the police radar is firmly locked on drivers who are openly defying Supreme Court orders by using tinted glasses, illegal sirens, and pressure horns to assert unwarranted influence.

Detailed Breakdown of the Action (Day 10)

Special police teams tightened the noose on thousands of vehicles for various rule violations:

Black Films (Tinted Glasses): Despite the clear Supreme Court ban, the highest number of challans—3,638—were issued to vehicles sporting black films on their windows.

Defective/Fake Number Plates: 2,450 vehicles were penalized for displaying number plates and registration marks that violated standard regulations.

Unauthorized Texts or Symbols: Strict action was taken against 1,373 vehicles found displaying caste names, official designations, or organization logos.

Illegal Modifications: 945 vehicles were identified and penalized for unauthorized structural alterations to their body or chassis.

Hooters and Beacons: Police cracked down on 800 vehicles equipped with unauthorized red-blue beacons, flashers, strobe lights, and hooters, which are often used to create a false sense of authority or panic.

Pressure Horns: To curb noise pollution, air and pressure horns from 497 vehicles were confiscated.

“No Exemptions for Flaunting Caste or Designations”

ADG Traffic Dr. B.L. Meena issued a stern warning, stating that displaying one’s caste, official post, or organization name on a vehicle to assert dominance is a direct violation of the law. He emphasized that absolutely no leniency will be shown to those using illegal number plates, black films, or hooters. He assured the public that this special drive by the Rajasthan Police will continue with even greater strictness in the coming days to ensure a smooth, disciplined, and safe traffic system across the state.

JAIPUR (June 10, 2026): In a historic and cinematic crackdown, the Rajasthan Police’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has achieved a massive breakthrough in its ongoing mega-campaign against the drug trade. Acting on the strict directives of Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Kumar Sharma and under the adept leadership of ANTF IG Shri Vikas Kumar, the police intercepted a massive 90 kg consignment of illegal opium being smuggled from Manipur to Rajasthan.

Executed jointly with the Haryana Police in Sirsa, the seized contraband is valued at approximately ₹4.50 crore in the international market. This is being hailed as one of the largest and technically most complex operations in the history of the Rajasthan ANTF.

2 Months of Relentless Effort to Bust the ‘Manipur Module’

Committed to making Rajasthan a drug-free state, the ANTF maintained rigorous technical surveillance for months on the ‘Manipur Module’—a widespread drug-smuggling network operating from the northeastern states. To infiltrate this syndicate, IG Shri Vikas Kumar dispatched special intelligence teams to Manipur three times. The teams camped in the region for 10 days during each visit, conducting extensive reconnaissance.

During this period, a resident of Pali district named ‘Sukhram Vishnoi’ came under the police radar. He was making frequent trips between Rajasthan and Manipur to finalize drug deals. On his most recent trip to Manipur, ANTF teams trailed him like a shadow. Sukhram constantly changed his mobile phones, vehicles, and travel routes to dodge the police, but his evasive tactics ultimately failed.

Honey Trap, Pilgrimage, and Hide-and-Seek with the Police

After sealing the drug deal in Manipur, Sukhram traveled to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, to indulge in a luxurious lifestyle. He invited a female friend there, and the duo went on a trip to Nainital and the famous Kainchi Dham in Uttarakhand. Police officials were baffled to see a smuggler dealing in crores worth of narcotics roaming around so freely and carelessly.

Following their trip, the female friend boarded a bus to Jaipur, while Sukhram drove his Mizoram-registered car toward Jaipur taking a different route. The ANTF finally intercepted and nabbed him at a toll plaza near Jaipur. However, after a thorough search of the car, the police couldn’t find a single gram of opium. The cunning Sukhram had reset (formatted) his mobile phone and digital gadgets the moment he spotted the police barricades.

Cyber Wing’s Brilliance and the FASTag Clue

This is where the operation took a dramatic turn. When the ANTF’s cyber wing recovered the deleted data from Sukhram’s formatted devices, they stumbled upon the FASTag details of a ‘suspicious truck.’ Investigations revealed that Sukhram himself was paying the toll taxes for that vehicle. Tracking its GPS and toll locations, the police discovered that the truck had already entered the Haryana border via Manipur, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, and UP.

The Code Word: “Srinagar and Jammu”

Meanwhile, ‘Maganleep’ (fictional name), the syndicate kingpin operating from Jammu, got wind of Sukhram’s arrest. In a panic, he sent a coded message to the truck driver: “We were supposed to reach Srinagar (Jodhpur) by night, but now we will have to stop at Jammu; we won’t go further.” This decoded message made it clear that the consignment would no longer proceed to Rajasthan but would be offloaded and hidden in Haryana.

Female Inspector’s Bravery and Haryana Police’s Prompt Support

At 3:30 AM, IG Vikas Kumar took direct charge and contacted Haryana’s Sirsa SP, Shri Deepak Saran. Displaying immense promptness, the Sirsa Police immediately attached its force with the Rajasthan ANTF.

The entire field operation was commanded by a brave female ANTF officer, Inspector Smt. Kiranjeet Kaur (Hanumangarh Team In-charge). She had been leading the hunt tirelessly for 36 hours without food or sleep. The joint task force quickly set up blockades and tracked down the suspicious truck in Sirsa.

A ‘Secret Iron Chamber’ Inside the Truck’s Chassis

During the initial inspection, the truck appeared entirely empty, and the driver feigned ignorance. However, when the ANTF team conducted a deep physical check of the truck’s undercarriage (chassis), they were stunned. The smugglers had welded heavy iron plates and used nuts and bolts to construct a ‘secret chamber’ beneath the vehicle.

When this hidden vault was cut open using heavy metal cutters, the police recovered 88.970 kg of illegal opium packed neatly in 95 pouches. The police arrested the truck driver, Kishanaram Vishnoi (44, resident of Pali), on the spot. Mastermind Sukhram Vishnoi was already in ANTF custody.

What is the Mystery Behind the Name ‘Operation Jamuhar’?

This historic crackdown was named ‘Jamuhar’ to represent the initials of the 5-state network involved in the smuggling route:

J (Ja) – Jammu (Where the main kingpin was based)

M (Mu) – Manipur (Where the opium was loaded)

U (U) – Uttar Pradesh (The transit point where Sukhram stayed)

Ha (Ha) – Haryana (Where the truck was finally intercepted)

R (R) – Rajasthan (The final destination for the drug supply)

Literal Meaning: In local terminology, ‘Jamuhar’ refers to a ‘poisonous weed’ that destroys the main agricultural crop. The name serves as a perfect metaphor for the poison of narcotics arriving from Manipur to ruin the youth.

Jaipur (June 09, 2026): In a massive state-wide enforcement drive aimed at reclaiming traffic discipline, the Rajasthan Police has launched a aggressive crackdown on motorists flouting road safety norms. Operating under the direct instructions of Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Kumar Sharma, the special traffic and law enforcement campaign marked its eighth day with a sweeping operation, penalizing a staggering 8,448 vehicle owners across the state.

The comprehensive drive is designed not only to weed out traffic anarchy and the misuse of privilege symbols on roads but also to foster a culture of responsible driving among citizens.

Major Focus on Tinted Windows and VIP-Style Number Plates

The state-wide campaign, closely monitored by Director General (Traffic) Anil Paliwal, heavily targeted modifications that violate apex court rulings and motor vehicle acts.

According to Additional Director General of Police (Traffic) Dr. B. L. Meena, statistical analysis from the drive shows that a significant number of motorists continue to openly defy Supreme Court guidelines regarding vehicle aesthetics and modifications:

Illegal Tinted Glass (Black Film): The highest number of offenses recorded involved vehicles with illegal black films on windows, resulting in 3,264 actions state-wide.

Non-Standard Number Plates: 2,079 motorists were penalized for displaying fancy, illegible, or VIP-style registration plates.

Unauthorized Text and Caste Displays: Police took strict action against 1,204 individuals for illegally painting designations, caste names, or political symbols onto their vehicles to exert undue influence.

Structural Vehicle Modifications: 861 vehicles were flagged and penalized for unauthorized modifications to their chassis or body structures without transport department approval.

Clamping Down on Hooters and Noise Pollution

The crackdown also focused on individuals attempting to mimic official authority or causing public disturbance through noise pollution.

During the drive, police intercepted 544 cases of vehicles illegally equipped with red-blue beacon lights, flashers, or hooters. Additionally, 496 cases were registered against the use of loud pressure horns and modified silencers—particularly on bullet motorcycles engineered to emit firecracker-like sounds—which severely disrupt peace in silent zones.

District-Wise Performance: Kota City Leads the Charge

The enforcement drive saw active participation across all police districts. Kota City topped the state performance chart with the maximum number of penal actions, followed closely by Ajmer and Barmer.

District / Police Unit

Total Punitive Actions Taken

Kota City

572

Ajmer

416

Barmer

340

Jaipur Traffic Police

320

Chittorgarh

311

Bharatpur

309

Bhilwara

281

Jhunjhunu

257

Jaipur Rural

247

Udaipur

215

Jodhpur Traffic Police

180

Traffic Compliance is a Social Responsibility: DGP

Commending the ground forces, DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma has directed all state police units to sustain the momentum of these surprise checks.

“Adhering to traffic rules is not merely a legal obligation to avoid penalties; it is a fundamental social and moral responsibility of every citizen,” the DGP stated. He emphasized that the ultimate objective of the Rajasthan Police is not just punitive financial recovery, but rather cultivating awareness to establish a safe, self-disciplined, and seamless transit system across the state.

Jaipur, June 2, 2026

In a massive institutional push to reinforce law and order, deter criminal elements, and ensure strict compliance with road safety regulations, the Rajasthan Police executed an unprecedented, synchronized statewide crackdown titled ‘Mega Nakabandi’ on Monday, June 1, 2026. Initiated under the direct orders of Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma, the high-intensity operation saw a massive deployment of police personnel across every district, causing a major stir among lawbreakers and traffic violators.

Scale of Operation and Tactical Deployments

Providing detailed insights into the strategic execution of this state-level operation, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Shri VK Singh shared crucial ground metrics. To guarantee the success of the initiative, a staggering 1,103 tactical checkpoints (Nakabandi points) were established simultaneously across all police ranges and inspectorates/commissariats.

Deployments worked meticulously from early morning until late into the night, conducting rigorous inspections of 74,872 vehicles. The screening included 39,984 two-wheelers and 34,888 four-wheelers. During this multi-pronged security sweep, police teams successfully apprehended 226 accused individuals wanted in various crimes or found engaging in highly suspicious activities.

Zero Tolerance for Traffic Violations: Record Citations Issued

With a core focus on minimizing road fatalities and optimizing urban traffic management, authorities clamped down heavily on traffic offenses. Within a span of just 24 hours, an exceptional total of 15,083 challans (citations) were generated across the state.

The analytical breakdown of these punitive actions includes:

Riding Without Helmets: 3,234 citations

License Plate Violations (Incorrect/Fancy Plates): 1,653 citations

Illegal Use of Tinted/Black Film on Windows: 1,643 citations

Driving Without Seatbelts: 1,648 citations

Using Mobile Phones While Driving: 184 citations

Other Miscellaneous Traffic Violations: 6,433 citations

Additionally, the state applied a strict zero-tolerance approach toward ‘Drink and Drive’ offenses. A total of 385 motorists were caught operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol and were penalized on the spot under stringent provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Seizure of Illegal Weapons, Narcotics, and Unaccounted Cash

The scope of this mega operation extended far beyond routine traffic checking, serving as an effective dragnet against organized crime and illicit syndicates. Following deep inspections, 11 vehicles were seized immediately due to critical documentation failures or suspected use in crimes. Furthermore, a total of 73 new criminal cases were registered across various police stations under major statutory acts, including:

The Excise Act (Illicit Liquor Smuggling): 30 cases

The Arms Act (Illegal Weapons Possession): 4 cases

The NDPS Act (Narcotics & Contraband Traffic): 2 cases

Other Special and Local Laws: 37 cases

Based on these fresh registries, 63 primary suspects were formally jailed. Concurrently, to mitigate potential threats to public peace, 163 individuals displaying highly suspicious or non-cooperative behavior were placed under preventive arrest under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Major Recoveries Across Key Regions:

Jaipur Range: Achieved the largest fiscal breakthrough by intercepting 5 suspicious vehicles carrying a combined total of ₹25.50 Lakh in unaccounted cash.

Bharatpur Range: Cracking down on illegal sand mining along the Chambal riverbed, teams seized multiple tractor-trolleys loaded with illegal gravel and confiscated massive consignments of illicit country-made liquor.

Kota Range: Checkpoints successfully intercepted significant quantities of illicit spirits, poppy straw (doda choora), compromised vehicles, and high-decibel speaker amplifiers violating noise pollution thresholds.

Bikaner Range: Conducted intensive sweeps targeting cross-border liquor smuggling routes and unverified vehicular transits.

Range-Wise Performance: Jaipur Dominates Inspections and Citations

The performance metrics across the distinct police ranges and metropolitan commissariats highlight the exhaustive nature of the drive:

Police Range / Commissariat

Total Challans Issued

Total Vehicles Inspected

Jaipur Range

2,492

13,589

Ajmer Range

2,229

10,205

Bharatpur Range

2,145

9,081

Udaipur Range

2,051

12,234

Kota Range

1,796

Data Processing

Bikaner Range

1,572

Data Processing

Jodhpur Range

1,470

8,079

Jaipur Police Commissariat

990

Data Processing

Jodhpur Police Commissariat

338

Data Processing

Statistical modeling confirms that Jaipur Range emerged as the top-performing division state-wide, leading efficiently in both total citations generated and microscopic vehicle inspections. The Udaipur, Ajmer, and Bharatpur ranges followed closely with highly commendable operational outputs.

Future Outlook

Senior administrative officials at the Rajasthan Police Headquarters indicated that the primary objective of this surprise ‘Mega Nakabandi’ was to reinforce a deep sense of security among ordinary citizens while establishing a definitive deterrent against criminal syndicates. The police administration has dropped clear hints that similar unannounced, large-scale vehicular sweeps will remain a recurring feature across the state to sustain public harmony and permanently reduce road accidents.
