Marking a historic milestone in eco-friendly and accessible urban mobility, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma officially launched the ‘PM E-Bus Seva’ scheme in the state on Saturday (June 20, 2026). During a grand ceremony at the Amar Jawan Jyoti in Jaipur, the CM flagged off 29 state-of-the-art electric buses for the capital city. Simultaneously, he virtually inaugurated another fleet of 18 e-buses for Bhilwara. This major initiative is aimed at drastically reducing the carbon footprint and promoting a sustainable public transport network across Rajasthan’s major urban centers.

Key Highlights of the News:

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma rolls out 29 e-buses for Jaipur and 18 for Bhilwara under the PM E-Bus Seva.

A total of 1,150 electric buses have been sanctioned for 8 major cities; 675 will hit the roads in the first phase by Diwali 2026.

Buses are equipped with modern amenities like CCTV cameras, panic buttons, and AC to ensure maximum passenger security.

Leading by example, the Chief Minister personally purchased a ticket and traveled in the newly launched e-bus to review its ride quality.

Modern Amenities for a Safe Commute; CM Takes a Ride

Before officially flagging off the green fleet, Chief Minister Sharma performed a traditional puja of the vehicles and closely inspected their technical features. These buses are meticulously designed to provide a comfortable commuting experience, particularly for women, differently-abled individuals, senior citizens, and students. Prioritizing passenger security, each air-conditioned vehicle is fitted with CCTV cameras and emergency panic buttons. Taking a hands-on approach, the Chief Minister bought a ticket from the counter and traveled alongside regular passengers from Amar Jawan Jyoti to the State Hangar to personally assess the quality of the public transport.

1,150 E-Buses Sanctioned for 8 Cities in Rajasthan

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted that the central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, launched the ‘PM E-Bus Seva’ in August 2023 to transform the face of urban transit. The central government is assisting the state with comprehensive infrastructure support, ranging from depot construction to operational logistics. Eight key cities in Rajasthan—Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Bikaner, Bhilwara, Alwar, and Ajmer—have been selected for this scheme.

With a massive total of 1,150 e-buses sanctioned for the state, the CM announced that the first phase, comprising 675 buses, will be fully operational by the upcoming Diwali festival. Furthermore, to bolster urban and tourism transport, the state government plans to introduce 555 additional urban e-buses and 50 premium double-decker electric buses.

A Step Towards ‘Viksit Rajasthan 2047’ and Environmental Conservation

Emphasizing the state’s rapid trajectory of progress, Sharma stated that the ‘double-engine’ government has significantly accelerated development across water, electricity, industry, and infrastructure sectors over the past two and a half years. He termed the e-bus launch as a crucial stepping stone toward realizing the grand vision of a ‘Viksit Rajasthan 2047’ (Developed Rajasthan).

Aligning green transport with ecological conservation, the Chief Minister lauded the ongoing ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ campaign, under which a record 20 crore saplings have already been planted. He strongly urged the citizens of the state to actively participate in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ tree-plantation initiative to boost the region’s green cover.

The launch event in Jaipur was attended by prominent dignitaries including MLAs Kalicharan Saraf and Gopal Sharma, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, and JCTSL Chairman Ravi Jain. Meanwhile, Bhilwara MLAs Udaylal Bhadana and Ashok Kothari joined the celebration virtually.

Jaipur: There is major and highly relieving news for the citizens residing in the rural areas of Rajasthan. Under the direct instructions of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the grand “Gramin Seva Shivir-2026” (Rural Service Camps) is being organized across Gram Panchayats in the state from June 12, 2026, to July 15, 2026.

The primary objective of this massive campaign is to provide immediate, on-the-spot resolutions to the daily administrative problems of the common people and ensure that the direct benefits of the state government’s public welfare and flagship schemes reach every village and hamlet.

Camp Timings and Workflow

Keeping public convenience in mind, the camps will be held on all working days of the week from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM (or until the day’s work is concluded).

The Chief Minister has issued strict directives to make every possible effort to complete the work of each individual visiting the camp on the very same day. If any task remains pending after 6:00 PM, a department-wise list will be compiled to ensure its time-bound disposal. The attendance of all concerned nodal officers and employees has been made strictly mandatory during the camp hours.

Services of 22 Departments Under One Roof

Citizens will no longer need to make endless rounds of government offices. The Revenue Department has been appointed as the nodal agency for this campaign, and 21 other major departments will join forces to provide on-the-spot services:

Revenue & Panchayati Raj: Correction of land records, land mutation, removal of encroachments, land allotment to landless farmers, issuance of birth and death certificates, and distribution of residential leases (Pattas).

Medical, Health & Ayurveda: Maternal and child health checkups, screening for Cancer, Sickle Cell, and TB, distribution of Ayushman Bharat cards, and free distribution of medicines by the Ayurveda Department.

Agriculture & Animal Husbandry: Information and registration for the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, animal health checkups, vaccinations, and distribution of insurance policies under the ‘Mukhyamantri Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana’.

Infrastructure (Power, Water, PWD): Resolution of transformer and electricity supply complaints by the Energy Department. Repair of handpumps and pipeline leakages by the PHED and Ground Water Departments. Repair of rural roads and government buildings by the Public Works Department (PWD).

Social Justice & Food Supply: Pension verification, Palanhar Yojana applications, ration (NFSA) related matters, e-KYC updates, and Jan Aadhaar and Aadhaar seeding.

Women Empowerment: Extending the benefits of schemes like ‘Lado Protsahan Yojana’, ‘Matritva Vandana Yojana’, and ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ to eligible women.

Additionally, departments such as Labor, Disaster Management, Transport, Cooperatives, Education, and Sainik Kalyan (Veterans Welfare) will also provide their respective services directly at the camps.

Digital Monitoring and Transparency

To maintain complete transparency in the workflow, a special online portal has been developed by the Department of Information Technology and Communication (DOIT). The camp in-charge will be required to update the daily progress report of the executed tasks on this portal.

Furthermore, to ensure authenticity, a special seal of “Gramin Seva Shivir-2026” will be affixed to all documents and certificates issued during the campaign. For effective state-level monitoring of the campaign, a Coordination Cell has also been established under the direction of the Principal Secretary (Revenue).

The state government has strongly appealed to the general public to visit their nearest Gram Panchayat headquarters in large numbers and take maximum advantage of these camps.

A major step towards strengthening Rajasthan’s artificial intelligence ecosystem was taken on Thursday as Rajasthan Centre of Advanced Technology (R-CAT) hosted the ‘Build with AI’ workshop in collaboration with Google India in Jaipur. The initiative focused on nurturing the next generation of AI developers, innovators, startups, and technology professionals in the state.

Addressing the workshop, Dr. Ravi Kumar Surpur said the Rajasthan Government is committed to providing world-class technology platforms to youth and startups. He stated that under the guidance of Bhajan Lal Sharma, the state is continuously working to position Rajasthan among India’s emerging leaders in artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

He emphasized that along with developing new AI tools, there is also a need to optimize existing citizen-centric government applications through AI integration. According to him, the use of artificial intelligence can improve public service delivery and help implement welfare schemes more efficiently and transparently.

More Than 100 Participants Joined the Workshop

The hands-on technical workshop witnessed participation from over 100 startup founders, developers, students, innovators, corporate leaders, and government officials. Participants received advanced training on Google’s AI developer platforms, Gemini AI capabilities, APIs, cloud technologies, and modern AI tools.

The workshop also provided insights into developing AI-powered applications, integrating AI into digital products, automating workflows, and building scalable technology solutions using Google’s AI ecosystem.

Focus on Innovation and Skill Development

Representatives from Google India appreciated the enthusiasm, technical curiosity, and innovation potential demonstrated by Rajasthan’s young developers and startup community. The event also served as a collaborative platform connecting startups, educational institutions, MSMEs, developers, and government stakeholders.

Officials believe such initiatives will play a key role in promoting AI skill development, innovation partnerships, and future-ready digital opportunities for Rajasthan’s youth.

The workshop is being viewed as an important step under the Rajasthan AI/ML Policy 2026 aimed at building a strong AI innovation ecosystem and establishing Rajasthan as a leading state in artificial intelligence, digital talent development, and next-generation technology innovation.

Bhajan Lal Sharma visited Churada village in the tribal region of Banswara district on Thursday morning, where he interacted directly with villagers and reviewed local issues during a public outreach program. After holding a night chaupal in the village, the Chief Minister walked through the narrow village lanes, speaking with residents and understanding their concerns firsthand.

During the interaction, the Chief Minister said the Rajasthan Government is working to fulfill the vision of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Antyodaya philosophy by ensuring that development and welfare schemes reach the last person in society. He described Gram Vikas Chaupal as an effective platform for direct communication and problem-solving at the grassroots level.

Chaupal Held Under a Peepal Tree

While touring the village, the Chief Minister held a chaupal under a Peepal tree where villagers shared concerns related to water supply, irrigation, and local infrastructure. Taking immediate note of these issues, he instructed district officials to work on the construction of an anicut on the Hiran River and improve drinking water sources in the area.

The Chief Minister also visited a Maa Bari Center, interacted with children, and distributed chocolates among them. He encouraged students to focus on education and work towards building a brighter future. He also appealed to villagers to keep young people away from substance abuse and ensure proper education for children.

Immediate Action on Financial Irregularity Complaint

During the program, complaints regarding alleged financial irregularities against Kushalgarh Block Chief Medical Officer Dr. Girish Bhabhor were brought to the Chief Minister’s attention. Taking the matter seriously, he directed officials to initiate immediate action. Following the instructions, the medical department placed Dr. Bhabhor under APO status without delay.

Focus on Water Conservation and Modern Farming

The Chief Minister emphasized that water has no alternative and every drop must be used wisely. He urged farmers to adopt micro-irrigation, rainwater harvesting, pond construction, and diversified farming techniques to improve productivity and income.

He also encouraged farmers to combine agriculture with animal husbandry to strengthen their financial condition. Referring to successful community-led water conservation efforts in the Dungarpur region, he called upon villagers to turn water conservation into a public movement.

Development Projects Approved on the Spot

Jaipur | Administrative Desk

Rajasthan Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas has underscored the state government’s commitment to fiscal prudence and the timely delivery of budget promises. In a high-level review meeting, he called for a strategic roadmap to ensure that the benefits of state schemes reach the public without delay.

Key Directives: Accelerating Pending Projects

The Chief Secretary instructed officials to prioritize the completion of pending announcements from the fiscal years 2024-25 and 2025-26, while simultaneously preparing a time-bound execution plan for the 2026-27 budget.

Clearing Bottlenecks: Departments have been told to fast-track cases involving land allotment, Technical Sanctions (TS), Detailed Project Reports (DPR), and forest/environmental clearances.

Coordinated Action: He emphasized the need for inter-departmental coordination to prevent procedural delays in major infrastructure projects.

Financial Discipline and Austerity Measures

Aligning with the Prime Minister’s call for national financial discipline, the Chief Secretary highlighted that the state is taking active steps to control expenditure.

Leading by Example: He cited Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma’s recent decision to reduce the size of his own convoy to save on fuel and petrol costs as a benchmark for austerity.

Cutting Waste: All departments are directed to sensitize staff toward economic frugality and eliminate unnecessary administrative expenses.

Protecting Industry: While promoting savings, the CS warned that these measures must not adversely affect Rajasthan’s thriving export sectors, such as textiles, ensuring industries continue to receive necessary state support.

16th Finance Commission and Central Schemes

The meeting placed a heavy focus on the 16th Finance Commission, which begins its award period this year.

Strategic Planning: Officials were asked to study the Commission’s recommendations thoroughly to prepare the state’s financial strategy.

Central Grants: Principal Secretary of Finance, Shri Vaibhav Galriya, urged departments to secure “Mother Sanctions” for Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) on priority to ensure a steady flow of funds and avoid implementation gaps.

Expert Analysis: Balancing Growth with Prudence

Administrative analysts view this meeting as a “course correction” aimed at ensuring that the ambitious goals of the 2026 budget do not falter due to bureaucratic inertia. By linking austerity measures directly to high-level leadership (the CM’s convoy) and emphasizing the 16th Finance Commission, the state is positioning itself for long-term fiscal health while maintaining its focus on grassroots development.

Distinguished Presence

The ceremony also recalled the high-profile attendance at the May 9 workshop, which included:
