Karauli, Rajasthan.
Residents of the Koli community in Mohanpura village under Khokhri Gram Panchayat (Kala Devi region) staged a protest at the district collectorate, demanding removal of encroachment from their community land. A memorandum was submitted to the District Collector.

According to the community members, they have been residing on their residential land for the past 80 years, while the adjacent “Sivaychak” (government) land has been in use by the Koli settlement for the last 40 years, with the intent to construct a community building.

Villagers allege that some individuals from the Koli community itself, in collusion with land mafias, illegally converted the Sivaychak land into residential plots and got land allotments (pattas) issued in their names.

The Koli community has demanded the cancellation of these illegally issued pattas and immediate removal of encroachments, restoring the land for community purposes.

They warned of launching a larger agitation if their demands are not met promptly.
