Karauli, Rajasthan.
The TB-Free India campaign received fresh momentum in Karauli district with the launch of a 100-day special action plan workshop, held at the District Health Office campus. The workshop was presided over by Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Jayantilal Meena.
During the event, it was announced that ASHA workers will conduct door-to-door screenings to identify potential TB patients. District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Dharmendra Kumar stated that the campaign aims to screen 30% of the city’s population through chest X-rays and sputum tests.
Special focus will be given to high-risk groups, including diabetic patients, individuals over 60 years of age, and families with a history of TB in the last five years.
To strengthen the campaign, the Bayana subdivision will be provided with three handheld X-ray machines and a mobile medical unit, enabling access to remote areas. Patients in nearby localities will be tested at hospitals, while special health camps will be organized for those in distant villages.
This initiative is part of the Government of India’s mission to eliminate TB from the country by the year 2025.
