Bundi, Rajasthan | National Road Safety Month 2026 was formally launched under the joint aegis of the District Administration and the Transport Department with the aim of spreading public awareness about traffic rules and reducing road accidents.
At the ceremony held on this occasion, Chief Guest Additional District Collector Ramkishore Meena, Special Guests Chief Executive Officer Zila Parishad Ravi Verma, Public Works Department Superintendent Engineer Mukesh Gupta, and Education Department Assistant Director Dhanraj Meena unveiled a road safety exhibition.
The exhibition displays information about traffic rules, the importance of helmets, and the use of seat belts through pictures, charts, and projectors.
District Transport Officer Soumya Sharma stated that the exhibition will remain open to the public throughout the month.During the event, the guests flagged off a public awareness chariot. This chariot will travel to various urban and rural areas of the district, spreading awareness about safe driving through loudspeakers.
In his address, the Chief Guest stated, “Road safety is not just the responsibility of one department, but a collective social responsibility.” The road safety campaign aims to minimize accident rates through a combination of technology and awareness.
During January, competitions will be held in schools, free eye check-ups, training workshops for heavy vehicle drivers, and street plays.Transport Inspector Hansraj Meena, Dharampal Gurjar, Road Safety Committee members, and members of the public attended the event.
