JAIPUR/AJMER. Visitors, tourists, and pilgrims entering Ajmer will soon be welcomed by a grand display of the city’s glorious culture, exquisite beauty, and rich heritage. On Wednesday, Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Mr. Vasudev Devnani conducted a detailed inspection of the ongoing beautification and development works stretching from the Ashok Udyan entry gate to Ambedkar Circle. During the visit, he issued crucial directives to officials to give the entire stretch a modern yet deeply heritage-inspired makeover.
The Assembly Speaker emphasized that a city’s entry point defines its first impression. Therefore, Ajmer’s main gateway is being developed to mirror its historical, cultural, and educational identity.
Heritage Lighting, Fountains, and Terracotta Themes to Redefine the Stretch
During the inspection, Speaker Mr. Devnani provided several practical guidelines to officials to ensure the execution of the project in a phased manner:
- Theme-Based Beautification: The entire route from the Ashok Udyan entry gate to the bus stand will be transformed based on a heritage theme. It will feature decorative heritage lights, artistic fountains, well-curated green belts, and beautifully landscaped gardens at designated intervals.
- Wall Paintings and Murals: Side walls along the road will be painted in rich terracotta shades, showcasing murals of Ajmer’s historical legacy, Chauhan rulers, iconic lakes, and legendary personalities. This will effectively introduce the city’s rich past to the newer generation and visiting tourists.
- Identity as an Educational Hub: Ajmer’s distinct reputation as a major center of education will also be creatively highlighted through artistic paintings and visual mediums along the entry route.
Statue of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan at Pushkar Circle; Anti-Encroachment Drive Ordered
To streamline urban development, the Assembly Speaker ordered strict measures:
- New Circle and Statue: A grand traffic circle will be constructed at the MDS University Pushkar Crossroads, featuring a majestic statue of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan. The entire surrounding area will be developed with a unified heritage look.
- Encroachment and Cleanliness: Instructions were given to immediately clear wild bushes and illegal encroachments around the Ashok Udyan gate to make the entire area look clean, open, and organized.
- RPSC Circle Development: Officials were directed to maintain uniform road width on both sides in front of the RPSC office and to build a beautiful circle at the RPSC crossroads, complete with an iconic symbol representing the city.
Permanent Solution for Waterlogging
Taking serious note of the persistent waterlogging issue near the Royal Enfield showroom on Jaipur Road, Mr. Devnani pulled up officials and directed the immediate development of an effective drainage system. He stressed that commuting must remain hassle-free and traffic should flow smoothly even during the monsoon season.
