JAIPUR. The Rajasthan state administration is on high alert to ensure that the upcoming Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026, scheduled for May 24, is conducted in a completely transparent, fair, and orderly manner. In this regard, a high-level review meeting was held at the Government Secretariat on Wednesday, chaired by Chief Secretary Mr. V. Srinivas.
The Chief Secretary strictly instructed officials to ensure that candidates face no inconvenience or administrative hurdles during the examination.
Strict Surveillance Across 125 Centers; Special Arrangements for Severe Heat
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary highlighted that a large number of candidates will be appearing across a total of 125 examination centers in four major districts: Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, and Udaipur. Keeping the scorching summer heat in mind, the following crucial decisions and guidelines were issued:
- Uninterrupted Power Supply: Considering the intense heat wave conditions in the state, the Chief Secretary gave strict directives to maintain a continuous, uninterrupted power supply in all areas housing examination centers.
- Basic Amenities: Comprehensive arrangements for chilled drinking water, proper seating, shaded waiting areas, and emergency medical facilities must be set up at all centers.
- Vigilance at Sensitive Centers: Examination centers categorized as sensitive will have extra security deployments and will be placed under strict, continuous monitoring.
Stress on Robust Inter-Departmental Coordination
The Chief Secretary directed the Jaipur Collector, along with the District Collectors of Ajmer, Jodhpur, and Udaipur (who joined via video conference), and the police department to work in close coordination. He made it clear that any form of negligence, mismanagement, or malpractice during the examination will not be tolerated. For this, traffic management and law-and-order protocols must be streamlined well in advance.
