In an official statement, the Central Railway stated that using electric kettles on trains is “strictly prohibited” and is “unsafe, illegal, and a punishable offense.” According to railway officials, such behavior can pose a fire risk and be extremely dangerous to other passengers. Furthermore, it can disrupt the train’s power supply and cause malfunctions in the AC or other electronic equipment.

The Railways has appealed to passengers to immediately report any such dangerous activity to the relevant authorities if they notice it.

The video was posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by a user named @WokePandemic and has been viewed over 65,000 times. After the video went viral, passengers openly expressed their opinions on the railway’s security system and passenger responsibility. One user wrote, “This is not a joke, but a serious safety hazard. Hopefully, this will warn others not to attempt such dangerous stunts.”
