JAIPUR: In a major move to streamline road safety and ensure a secure commuting environment across the state, the Rajasthan Police has launched a high-octane enforcement drive dubbed “Vajraprahar.” The campaign, which targets violators of the Motor Vehicles Act, has gained significant momentum, with thousands of vehicles being penalized for various non-compliance issues.

Under the direct orders of Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma, and the strict supervision of DG Police (Training & Traffic) Anil Paliwal and ADG (Traffic) Dr. B.L. Meena, this intensive 30-day drive is scheduled to run from June 1 to June 30, 2026. The police force has adopted a “Zero Tolerance” policy against illegal modifications that compromise public safety and law and order.

A Massive Single-Day Operation: 7,721 Violators Booked

The scale of the operation was evident on Sunday, June 14, 2026, when Rajasthan Police penalized a staggering 7,721 vehicles in just 24 hours. The crackdown primarily focused on elements that hinder visibility or cause public nuisance.

The official breakdown of the action taken on June 14 includes:

Black Film (Tinted Windows): 2,853 vehicles (The highest number of violations).

Faulty Number Plates: 1,989 vehicles penalized for non-standard or unauthorized plates.

Unauthorized Words/Signs: 1,041 vehicles for displaying unauthorized designations or symbols.

Illegal Structural Modifications: 726 vehicles.

Unauthorized Lights & Hooters: 674 vehicles for using red/blue lights or sirens without permission.

Pressure/Air Horns: 438 vehicles booked for noise pollution.

Kota City Leads the Enforcement Drive

In the statewide performance rankings for the June 14 operation, Kota City emerged at the top with 406 registered cases. Other major districts and police units also reported significant enforcement activities:

District/Unit

Number of Actions Taken

Kota City

406

Alwar

388

Jaipur West

378

Jaipur Rural

338

Jaipur Traffic

303

Bhilwara

297

Chittorgarh

296

The widespread action across these districts highlights the police’s commitment to eliminating “VIP culture” symbols like illegal hooters and red-blue lights.

A Call for Public Cooperation

DG Traffic Anil Paliwal emphasized that the primary goal of this special campaign is to reduce road accidents and foster a culture of disciplined driving. He stated that illegal modifications like black films are often used by anti-social elements to evade detection, making them a serious security risk.

The Rajasthan Police has issued a formal appeal to the public, urging vehicle owners to voluntarily remove illegal pressure horns, unauthorized sirens, and black window films. “Abiding by traffic rules is not just about avoiding fines; it is about ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the road,” the department stated.

With the campaign set to continue until the end of June, the police have indicated that the intensity of checks will remain high to ensure that Rajasthan’s roads become a model for safety and order.

Jaipur, June 2, 2026

In a massive crackdown on the narcotics trade, the Baran Police in Rajasthan have delivered a crippling blow to the financial empire of drug cartels. Acting on a strict ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy, the police have executed an ‘Economic Surgical Strike’ under ‘Operation Vajra Prahar’, completely freezing the illicitly acquired assets of notorious drug smuggler Biramchand Lodha and his family members.

Invoking the stringent provisions of Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the authorities have attached movable and immovable properties, alongside suspicious bank transactions, totaling a staggering ₹3.92 Crore. Following this action, the accused and his family are legally barred from using, selling, or transferring these properties.

The Objective of ‘Operation Vajra Prahar’

Baran Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Andasu stated that ‘Operation Vajra Prahar’ was launched with a clear, dual-pronged strategy: to arrest drug traffickers and to systematically dismantle the financial networks built through illegal narcotics money. The police believe that paralyzing the economic backbone of these mafias is the most effective weapon to permanently eradicate the drug syndicate from the region.

Breakdown of the ₹3.92 Crore Frozen Assets

In-depth police investigations revealed that Biramchand Lodha (a resident of Dokari Khoh under the Sarthal police station jurisdiction), his wife Phulabai, his brother Rahul Lodha, and his sister-in-law Bhavana had heavily invested their drug money into real estate, luxury vehicles, and banking channels.

Details of the Attached Properties:

Asset Type

Description

Estimated Value

Immovable Property

2 Luxury Houses and 5 Large Residential Plots

₹1,60,26,526 (Including Vehicles)

Movable Property

2 Cars (Maruti & Eeco) and 1 Motorcycle

Included Above

Suspicious Banking

Unexplained transactions in bank accounts over the past 1 year

₹2,32,54,585

Total Frozen Value

Combined Real Estate, Vehicles, and Bank Transactions

₹3,92,81,111

Legal Endorsement from New Delhi

To formalize this massive economic seizure, the Sarthal Police submitted a comprehensive dossier to the Competent Authority in New Delhi under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act. Following a rigorous two-month legal review, the judicial authority validated the freezing order proposed by the Baran Police.

In compliance with Order No. 1504 dated May 16, 2026, and under the directives of the District Collector of Baran, the Village Secretary of Digod Jagir and the Sarthal Police physically executed the property freezing operations on the ground on June 2.

The Smuggler’s Criminal Profile

Biramchand Lodha has been on the police radar for a long time. He has three serious cases registered against him under the NDPS Act, including one involving a ‘Commercial Quantity’ of narcotics.

Previous Seizures: In past operations, police had confiscated 250 kg of poppy husk (doda choora) from his possession, valued at approximately ₹10 Lakh in the international market.

A Baleno car worth ₹8 Lakh, used for smuggling activities, was also seized previously.

Commendation for the Special Task Force

This highly successful ‘economic surgical strike’ was a joint effort between the SP Office and the Sarthal Police Station. SP Andasu highly commended the special team involved, which included Police Inspector Vinod Kumar, Sarthal Station House Officer (SHO) Dharampal Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Vimlesh Mehta, and specially recognized the outstanding groundwork laid by Constables Ramesh Kumar, Kamlesh Kumar, and Jitendra.

Karauli | May 4, 2026

The brutal murder of Ramveer Singh Jatav in Bhukrawali village, under the Suroth police station limits, continues to spark intense outrage in the region. Alleging police inaction two months after the crime, a delegation of villagers met with the Inspector General of Police (IG) of the Bharatpur Range on Monday to demand immediate justice and safety for the victim’s family.

The Incident: A Premeditated Crime

According to the victim’s family, on March 4, 2026, Ramveer Singh Jatav was lured from his home and taken to a secluded location, where he was allegedly murdered by more than ten individuals. The incident has sent shockwaves through the villages of Hindaun City and Suroth, creating a sense of fear and insecurity within the community. Although FIR No. 0073/2026 was registered at the Suroth police station, the family claims that the main perpetrators remain at large.

Key Demands Outlined in the Memorandum

Led by Lavkush (son of Amritlal), the villagers presented a formal memorandum to the IG with the following primary demands:

Immediate Arrests and Rewards: The urgent arrest of all named suspects and the declaration of a ₹10,000 bounty on each of their heads.

Investigation into Prior Complaints: A thorough investigation into complaints filed in December 2025 against former Congress District President Shivraj Meena and his kin. The villagers have leveled serious allegations of “land-grabbing” and “gangster activities” against them.

Financial Aid and Rehabilitation: Compensation of ₹50 lakh for the grieving family, a compassionate government job, and safe housing provided in the Suroth township.

Self-Defense: Issuance of an arms license to the victim’s family for their protection against potential threats.

Assurance from the IG Amidst Protest Warnings

The delegation—which included village president Santram, Puran Thekedar, Tikam, Veer Singh, Sumran, and Ranjit—warned the administration that if no significant progress is made, they would escalate their protest into a mass movement.

Upon hearing the grievances, the IG of Bharatpur Range assured the villagers of a swift investigation. He reportedly instructed the local police to fast-track the arrests of the suspects mentioned in the FIR to restore public confidence in the law.

Conclusion

The Bhukrawali murder case has become a flashpoint for legal and social accountability in Karauli. The upcoming days will be crucial in determining whether the police can fulfill the IG’s directives and provide the promised justice to Ramveer Singh Jatav’s family.

Disclaimer: This news report is based on the memorandum submitted by the villagers and the registered FIR (0073/2026). The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations against specific individuals are subject to verification through the legal and judicial process.
