In a concerted effort to eradicate the social evil of child marriage from the root, the District Administration and ActionAid Association have intensified their campaign. District Collector Shri Akshay Godara officially launched a special ‘Public Awareness Poster’ at the District Secretariat. This poster is designed to serve as an effective tool to educate the public about the detrimental consequences of child marriage and to encourage citizens to report such incidents.

Proactive Initiatives by ActionAid Association

During the event, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Assistant Director of the District Child Protection Unit and Child Empowerment Department, highlighted the ongoing work of the ActionAid Association. The organization has been working tirelessly across the entire region, including the Masalpur block, to protect child rights. Their key activities include:

Community Dialogue: Continuous dialogue programs and sensitivity mapping to drive mass awareness.

Grassroots Surveys: Conducting comprehensive field surveys to identify and prevent potential cases of child marriage.

Educational Advocacy: Ensuring the education, security, and protection of rights for young girls.

Under the leadership of District Coordinator Dinesh Kumar Bairwa, these efforts have fostered a positive atmosphere of social awareness, providing significant momentum to child protection initiatives in the district.

Emphasis on Collective Participation

The poster launch was attended by Anil Sharma, Chairman of the District Child Welfare Committee; committee member Fazle Ahmed; child welfare advocate Hemraj Mali; and various social activists. The attendees collectively condemned child marriage as a curse to society and emphasized the need for unified efforts and active public participation to combat the practice.

The District Administration expressed confidence that this joint initiative by the administration and social organizations will serve as a milestone in the prevention of child marriage, contributing significantly to making Karauli a child marriage-free district.

Disclaimer: This report is based on official information. If you have information regarding any child marriage activity in your area, please contact the District Child Protection Unit or the Childline helpline at 1098.

KARAULI (RAJASTHAN): To ensure that the benefits of government welfare schemes and the information regarding the upcoming Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet-2026 (GRAM-2026) reach the grassroots level, the ‘Gram Rath’ Campaign is operating at full scale across the Karauli district. Under the direction of Lakhan Singh, CEO of the Zila Parishad, these mobile awareness units are visiting various Gram Panchayats to bridge the information gap between the government and the rural populace.

Strengthening Public Trust through Awareness

The primary objective of this campaign is to take the state government’s achievements, development works, and public welfare schemes directly to the people. By utilizing these specialized chariots (Raths), the administration aims to increase public awareness, build trust in governance, and ensure that every eligible person can access the benefits they are entitled to.

CEO Lakhan Singh stated:

“The Gram Rath Campaign is more than just a promotional activity; it is a bridge of trust. Our goal is to ensure that no deserving citizen remains deprived of government benefits due to a lack of information.”

Wednesday’s Journey: Constituency-Wise Coverage

On Wednesday, the Gram Raths conducted intensive tours across four assembly constituencies in the district:

Sapotra Constituency: Awareness activities were held in the Panchayats of Kachhipura, Rajaur, Atewa, Khohari, Kailadevi, Narauli, and Lauharra.

Hindaun Constituency: The campaign reached the villages of Nangla Meena, Jhareda, Bargama, and Alipura.

Karauli Constituency: Raths visited Rampur Dhabai, Barkheda, Akolpura, Mahu, and Sasedi Gram Panchayats.

Todabhim Constituency: Villagers in Manderu, Nisura, Singhania, Kariri, Merda, and Kanjauli were encouraged to avail themselves of various welfare initiatives.

Special Focus on ‘GRAM-2026’

A significant part of this campaign is dedicated to the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet-2026 (GRAM-2026). The mobile units are educating farmers about modern agricultural techniques, advanced seeds, and global innovations in farming. This initiative aims to empower local farmers to compete on a global stage and improve their socio-economic status.

During the visits, local representatives and departmental officials were present to resolve public queries and provide guidance on application processes for various schemes.
