What is the case about?

An FIR has been registered at Malviya Nagar police station in Jaipur based on a complaint filed by a woman through the court. The complaint includes allegations of rape, assault, and criminal intimidation.

According to the complainant, she was allegedly called to a government residence under the pretext of marriage and was subjected to force. She further alleged physical assault and threats when she resisted. The complaint was reportedly sent via post from another state citing security concerns.

Officer’s response

MLA D.C. Bairwa questioned the procedural fairness in this case and expressed concern over what he termed as “hasty administrative action.”

He stated that initiating an FIR and placing a senior officer under APO solely on the basis of a complaint—reportedly sent via post—without a thorough preliminary verification raises serious concerns about administrative neutrality.

Bairwa questioned whether the credibility of a reputed officer should be determined merely on the basis of a single complaint. He emphasized that treating someone as guilty before a proper investigation not only harms the individual’s reputation but also weakens institutional trust.

According to him, the image of any citizen or official should be based on evidence and verified facts, not assumptions or one-sided allegations.

Key demands raised

The MLA outlined three key demands:

➡️ No portrayal of any individual as guilty before the completion of the investigation

He also urged the Rajasthan government to reconsider any rushed decisions and ensure both justice and dignity are upheld.

Bairwa reiterated, “The fundamental principle of justice is clear—first establish the truth, then take action.”
