Prerna Public School, operating in the Jatav Basti area of Hindaun City, Karauli district, has approached the administration regarding the safety of its students. The school’s Headmaster has submitted a formal letter to the Commissioner of the Municipal Council, urging the immediate removal of illegal encroachments and construction materials blocking Block No. 54 and the colony’s main access roads.

The Core Issue

According to the school administration, some local residents have dumped large quantities of building materials, stones, and debris on the public pathways surrounding the colony. This has significantly narrowed the roads, leading to the following critical issues:

Disruption of School Bus Movement: The restricted road width has made it extremely difficult for school buses to navigate, causing delays and logistical hurdles.

Risk of Accidents: Scattered stones and debris on the road pose a constant threat, with children and pedestrians frequently slipping or getting injured.

Fear of Emergencies: During peak hours, trapped buses could jeopardize student safety in the event of an emergency, as quick movement is hindered by the blockage.

List of Offenders Submitted to Administration

In the official letter, the school administration has identified six individuals responsible for the encroachment by dumping materials on the road. The list includes:

Sundar (S/o Ramsahay)

Vijay (S/o Girraj)

Satish (S/o Tikam)

Ram Singh (S/o Natholi)

Kanha (S/o Panai)

Jagdish (S/o Natholi)

School’s Decisive Stance

The Headmaster stated firmly that public pathways are communal property and any individual occupation is not only ethically wrong but also a legal offense. He issued a warning to the administration, stating that if the encroachment is not removed promptly and a major accident occurs, the total responsibility will lie with the encroachers and the concerned department.

Conclusion and Appeal

Local residents and school staff maintain that the safety of children is paramount. There is an urgent appeal to the Municipal Council to inspect the site and initiate immediate seizure of the materials to ensure a safe passage for the young students.

Karauli: In a high-level review meeting held at the Collectorate auditorium on Monday, Karauli District Collector Akshay Godara took a firm stance on the pendency of revenue cases. Presiding over a gathering of revenue officers, the Collector scrutinized the progress of budget announcements and land allotment cases, directing officials to ensure time-bound completion of public welfare tasks.

Zero Tolerance for Delay in Land Disputes

Addressing the long-standing issues of Pattagarhi (demarcation) and pathway disputes, Collector Godara instructed officers to handle such matters with sensitivity and urgency. Key directives included:

Police Assistance: In cases where there is a risk of law-and-order disruption, revenue officials must conduct on-ground proceedings with the support of the police force.

Quality Adjudication: Cases pending in revenue courts must be resolved with high-quality legal standards and within a fixed timeframe.

Priority Summons: To expedite justice, the serving of notices and summons must be prioritized to avoid unnecessary legal delays.

Crackdown on Illegal Mining and Encroachments

The Collector took a tough stand against illegal mining in the district, ordering joint operations to ensure strict action against violators. He also emphasized the protection of land belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), directing the immediate removal of encroachments on such properties as well as on government-owned and pasture (charagah) lands.

Comprehensive Review of Revenue Operations

The meeting covered an extensive agenda aimed at streamlining administrative processes:

Record Purification: Focus on mutation (namantarkaran), purification of land records, and mutual division of accounts.

Land Allotment: Speedy disposal of land allotment files for landless farmers and various government departments to accelerate developmental projects.

Revenue Villages: Review of proposals to convert hamlets (Majras and Dhanis) into new revenue villages.

Revenue Collection: Assessment of income from registrations, land revenue, and other outstanding recoveries.

Focus on Budget Implementation and Public Grievances

Reviewing the status of the state government’s budget announcements, the Collector ordered their timely execution. He instructed Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) and Tehsildars to conduct regular public hearings (Jansunwai) at the sub-division level.

“Officials must resolve public problems on the spot so that citizens do not have to travel long distances for simple administrative tasks,” Godara stated.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Collector Hemraj Paridwal, all SDMs of the district, Tehsildars, and other senior officials of the revenue department.

Key Action Points:

Illegal Mining: Joint task forces to be mobilized immediately.

Development: Speedy land allotment for pending departmental projects.

Transparency: Quality checks on the purification of revenue records.
