<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rajasthan Police Cyber Crime Branch has warned taxpayers about rising online scams during the Income Tax Return (ITR) season. Fraudsters are targeting citizens with fake claims about <strong>tax refunds, PAN-Aadhaar linking, and profile verification</strong> to steal sensitive information.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Common Fraud Tactics:</strong></p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Fake messages &amp; calls</strong> claiming your refund is on hold or ITR is incorrect, with links to malicious sites.</li>



<li><strong>Phishing websites</strong> mimicking incometax.gov.in, asking for PAN, Aadhaar, bank details, OTP, etc.</li>



<li><strong>Malware attachments</strong> disguised as ITR receipts (APK files).</li>



<li><strong>Social media scams</strong> using fake logos and QR codes promising instant refunds.</li>
</ul>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Safety Tips:</strong></p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Use only the official site <strong>incometax.gov.in</strong>.</li>



<li>Verify sender’s email/number.</li>



<li>Never share OTP, PAN, Aadhaar, or bank details.</li>



<li>Avoid clicking suspicious links or scanning unknown QR codes.</li>
</ul>
