Cracking Down on VIP Culture and Traffic Violations

Conducted under the supervision of DG (Traffic) Shri Anil Paliwal, the primary goal of this campaign is to ensure road safety and curb illegal vehicle modifications. Additional Director General of Police (Traffic), Dr. B.L. Meena, stated that the police radar is firmly locked on drivers who are openly defying Supreme Court orders by using tinted glasses, illegal sirens, and pressure horns to assert unwarranted influence.

Detailed Breakdown of the Action (Day 10)

Special police teams tightened the noose on thousands of vehicles for various rule violations:

• Black Films (Tinted Glasses): Despite the clear Supreme Court ban, the highest number of challans—3,638—were issued to vehicles sporting black films on their windows.
• Defective/Fake Number Plates: 2,450 vehicles were penalized for displaying number plates and registration marks that violated standard regulations.
• Unauthorized Texts or Symbols: Strict action was taken against 1,373 vehicles found displaying caste names, official designations, or organization logos.
• Illegal Modifications: 945 vehicles were identified and penalized for unauthorized structural alterations to their body or chassis.
• Hooters and Beacons: Police cracked down on 800 vehicles equipped with unauthorized red-blue beacons, flashers, strobe lights, and hooters, which are often used to create a false sense of authority or panic.
• Pressure Horns: To curb noise pollution, air and pressure horns from 497 vehicles were confiscated.

“No Exemptions for Flaunting Caste or Designations”

ADG Traffic Dr. B.L. Meena issued a stern warning, stating that displaying one’s caste, official post, or organization name on a vehicle to assert dominance is a direct violation of the law. He emphasized that absolutely no leniency will be shown to those using illegal number plates, black films, or hooters. He assured the public that this special drive by the Rajasthan Police will continue with even greater strictness in the coming days to ensure a smooth, disciplined, and safe traffic system across the state.
