He noted that many young supporters across the state have long encouraged him to take on a public role. According to the minister, the party will soon make a formal declaration confirming the move.

JD(U) leader Neeraj Kumar also responded to the speculation, stating that party members have been hopeful about Nishant joining politics. He emphasized that decisions regarding positions such as Rajya Sabha nominations would be taken by the party’s top leadership, but added that Nishant’s credentials should not be questioned.

Home Minister’s post stripped from Nitish, given to Samrat Chaudhary

Janata Dal (United) ministers have been assigned various portfolios, including:

1. Bijendra Yadav : has been assigned the Finance, Commercial Tax, Energy, and Planning Development departments.
2. Vijay Chaudhary: has been assigned the Water Resources, Building Construction, and Parliamentary Affairs departments.
3. Ashok Chaudhary : has been given the responsibility of the Rural Works Department.
4. Sunil Kumar has been given the Education Ministry.

In addition, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has retained responsibility for departments such as General Administration, Cabinet Secretariat, Vigilance, and Elections.

Contributions from other parties in the NDA alliance

In addition to the JDU, the cabinet also includes MLAs from parties like the LJP (R), HAM, and RLD. Two MLAs from the LJP (R), one MLA each from HAM and RLD have been appointed ministers. The NDA won a total of 202 seats in the assembly elections, with the BJP winning 89, JDU 85, LJP (R) 19, HAM 5, and RLD 4.

Following the seat-sharing agreement within the Bihar NDA, a wave of discontent has intensified among local MLAs. He claimed that he was a strong leader and would return only after meeting the Chief Minister. According to him, his ticket was confirmed and he would not return without a symbol.

This incident occurred a few days after Gopal Mandal had made a statement regarding the party’s policies, stating that the chances of leadership emerging from the Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs) had diminished. These comments sparked discontent within the party, and there was talk that another leader might be fielded for his seat.

Press Conference

Minister Ashok Choudhary, who is in charge of the Rural Works Department, sent this notice to Prashant Kishore through his lawyer, Kumar Anjanay Shanu. The notice states that if Kishore fails to provide any concrete evidence to substantiate his allegations, he must publicly apologize unconditionally, and this apology will be delivered through a press conference.

The notice also states that Prashant Kishore’s statements have severely damaged Choudhary’s reputation and negatively impacted his social image. If a proper response is not received within a week, the minister has threatened to file a civil suit for damages of ₹100 crore.
