Bihar Politics ( India ) : Discussions about Nishant Kumar, son of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, stepping into politics have circulated for years. Now, those conversations appear to be moving toward reality. Senior JD(U) leader and Bihar minister Shravan Kumar has indicated that an official announcement regarding Nishant’s political entry may be made soon.

Formal Announcement Expected

Speaking on Tuesday, Shravan Kumar said that Nishant Kumar is set to begin his journey in active politics. He noted that many young supporters across the state have long encouraged him to take on a public role. According to the minister, the party will soon make a formal declaration confirming the move.

The development has generated fresh interest within the Janata Dal (United), where workers have reportedly welcomed the possibility of new leadership energy.

Party Leaders Voice Support

JD(U) leader Neeraj Kumar also responded to the speculation, stating that party members have been hopeful about Nishant joining politics. He emphasized that decisions regarding positions such as Rajya Sabha nominations would be taken by the party’s top leadership, but added that Nishant’s credentials should not be questioned.

Neeraj Kumar pointed out that Nishant has no allegations against him and highlighted his academic background. Drawing a comparison with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, he suggested that the two leaders should not be equated, arguing that their political and personal records differ significantly.

Bihar Assembly Election 2025 :

Following the seat-sharing agreement within the Bihar NDA, a wave of discontent has intensified among local MLAs. In particular, the displeasure of Gopal Mandal, a close confidante of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has become a topic of discussion. MLA Gopal Mandal, from Gopalpur in Bhagalpur district, arrived at the Chief Minister’s residence this morning and made strong statements demanding a ticket for his constituency.

Gopal Mandal stated that he had been standing outside the Chief Minister’s residence since 8:30 a.m. and would not leave until he received a ticket. He claimed that he was a strong leader and would return only after meeting the Chief Minister. According to him, his ticket was confirmed and he would not return without a symbol.

This incident occurred a few days after Gopal Mandal had made a statement regarding the party’s policies, stating that the chances of leadership emerging from the Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs) had diminished. These comments sparked discontent within the party, and there was talk that another leader might be fielded for his seat.
