Rajasthan: 7 days, 552 actions, 76 FIRs, 17 arrests and over 500 vehicles and equipment seized

Jaipur, Rajasthan – In the campaign against illegal mining activities, over 552 actions have been taken in the last seven days, involving 512 vehicles including 25 excavators, JCBs, and cranes, and over ₹2.88 crore in fines collected in the state treasury. During this period, 76 FIRs have been registered and 17 individuals have been arrested. On Monday, Mining Engineer, Jaipur, Shyam Kapri, seized two dumpers of mineral gravel in Chaksu, Jaipur, three tractor trolleys of masonry stone near Daulatpura, and three tractor trolleys of masonry stone in Hathnoda, Samod, and handed them over to the respective police stations.

Among the ME offices, Jaipur has the highest number of actions (over 65), followed by Bhilwara (61), Ajmer (36), Pali (32), Beawar (28), and Udaipur and Tonk (23 each). Action is ongoing in all the districts involved in the campaign.

Principal Secretary Mines, Mr. T. Ravikant, reviewed the progress of the campaign at the Secretariat on Monday. He stated that no laxity in action against illegal mining activities would be tolerated. He directed officials to be more proactive in the field.During the campaign, Jaipur’s ME, Mr. Shyam Kapri, in the team led by Superintendent Mining Engineer, Jaipur, Mr. NS Shaktawat, conducted the highest number of operations, with 65 actions and filed 8 FIRs.

The Jaipur team seized 2 excavators and 68 vehicles. During the illegal operations in Jaipur, more than ₹50 lakh was recovered and deposited in the treasury. ME Alwar, Mr. Manoj Kumar, conducted 34 operations, seized 2 excavators and 21 vehicles, registered 14 FIRs, and arrested 10 people. Actions were also taken in Kotputli and Behror. Tonk recorded the highest number of FIRs, with 17.

Under the guidance of Bhilwara SME, Mr. OP Kabra, Bhilwara Mining Engineer, Mr. Mahesh Sharma, conducted 61 operations, seizing 3 excavators and 63 vehicles. A fine of ₹2.6 million was collected, along with 339 tons of minerals seized. Actions are also ongoing in other areas of the zone.Under the guidance of Jodhpur SME, Mr. Devendra Gaur, Pali Sojat ME, Mr. Vineet Kumar, conducted 32 operations, seizing 3 excavators and 27 vehicles.

Under the guidance of Ajmer SME, Mr. Jai Gurubakhsani, Ajmer ME, Mr. Kumawat, conducted 34 operations, seizing 29 vehicles. Nagaur ME, Mr. Jai Godara, conducted 17 operations.

Bharatpur ME, Mr. KC Goyal, conducted 12 operations, seizing 10,949 tons of minerals. Actions against illegal mining activities are ongoing in all identified districts. At the headquarters level, coordination is being provided by Additional Director, Dr. Dharmendra Lohar.
