Padma awardee classical singer Pandit Chhannulal Mishra passes away at the age of 91

Pandit Chhannulal Mishra, a legendary Indian classical music singer, has passed away at the age of 91.

Chhannulal Mishra passes away : Renowned classical singer and Padma Award-winning artist Pandit Chhannulal Mishra passed away this morning in Mirzapur. He was 91 years old and had been ill for a long time. He passed away at around 4 a.m. today. Pandit Chhannulal Mishra’s last journey will take place in Varanasi, where he will be cremated.

A few days ago, Pandit Mishra was admitted to the BHU (Banaras Hindu University) hospital but was discharged after his condition improved. However, his health suddenly deteriorated, and he passed away this morning.

His daughter Namrata, announcing her father’s passing, said that Pandit Mishra was at his home in Mirzapur. Pandit Chhannulal Mishra was a great singer of Indian classical music, who won the hearts of music lovers both domestically and internationally with his art. His passing is an irreparable loss to the Indian music world.
