Bikaner/Kota/Bharatpur: CESC Rajasthan has introduced a digital smart billing system in Bikaner, Kota, and Bharatpur, allowing electricity consumers to receive their electricity bills via WhatsApp and email. This new system not only helps reduce paper consumption but also ensures timely delivery of bills.
CEO Prakash Joshi stated that the initiative was launched on World Environment Day. Consumers will now receive a direct bill link via WhatsApp, enabling them to view, download, and even pay instantly using an online payment button embedded within the message.
Bills will also be sent via email, helping users maintain a digital record for future reference.
🔔 No New Number Required
Joshi clarified that no new mobile number is needed to avail of this service. If a user’s existing WhatsApp-linked number is already registered with CESC, no further registration is necessary.
Consumers can also register by calling 0141-3532000 or sending a WhatsApp message to 7230044001.
🚨 Spot Billing Still Active in Jaipur
Meanwhile, Jaipur still relies on the traditional spot billing system, where the billing agent leaves a bill at the site after meter reading. Many times, bills don’t reach the consumers, leading to delayed payments. The digital billing model introduced in Bikaner, Kota, and Bharatpur could be a model for Jaipur to follow.
