A major road accident took place on the Karauli–Sarmathura road on Monday when a tractor-trolley carrying devotees returning from Kaila Devi overturned after becoming uncontrollable. More than 20 passengers sustained injuries, while seven people in critical condition were referred to Jaipur for advanced treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred near Kheda Mandli village. During the journey, the driver reportedly attempted to pick up a water bottle while driving, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. As a result, the tractor-trolley overturned. Over 25 people were on board at the time of the accident.
Chaos spread immediately after the mishap. Local residents rushed to the spot and helped shift the injured to the Karauli District Hospital, where medical teams are currently treating them.
Upon receiving the information, senior officials including ASP Gumanaram, DSP Anuj Shubham, SDM Premraj Meena, and hospital PMO Dr. Ramkesh Meena reached the hospital. They interacted with the injured individuals and inspected the medical arrangements.
The list of injured includes men, women, and children. Seven seriously injured victims were referred to Jaipur after receiving initial treatment. Hospital officials confirmed that all patients are being closely monitored.
Police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary findings indicate that negligence while driving may have led to the mishap.
